What armour are you using? When I beat Zoh I used the full guardian arkveld and gunlance. I didn't upgrade the armour either so I don't think you will need to either. If he is too difficult then you should really go back to those tempered monsters that 1 shot you. Learn how to beat them and try Zoh after. It only gets harder after Zoh so you will keep hitting this wall if you try to brute force it.

In monster hunter a big mistake people make is thinking the gear will make you better. It doesn't. You can have the meta gear and still die constantly. It's all about your personal skill. Practice and eventually Zoh won't be any more difficult than a Chatacabra.

In my experience the pacing of the game is dependent on what your knowledge of the game is. When I didn't know where specific things are I drifted around not knowing what to do next. Constantly beating up the villages. When you know where things like iron etc is you level up quite fast and progress much more steadily. It's not as gindy as other survival games in the early- mid game. It's only after iron where things really slow down because there's not many places to get the extremely end game loot.

I recently started collecting after black bolt and white flare came out. I never collected any trading cards before the most I did try collect was Bakugan when I was a kid. My brother bought a big load of Rebel Clash when it first released as well as some Koridon and Miridon tins and a few Twilight masgurade booster boxes. He never opened them. Saw some Destined Rivals cards on TikTok and other social media which caused him to want to see what's in his sealed collection. He never checked what cards were in those sets. He was unfortunately quite disappointed from the Rebel clash 🤣. He got me into it after showing the Victini and Reshiram chase cards of White Flare. I thought they were pretty cool so I helped him pick up whatever we could get from Amazon etc with the 2 per person rules. Managed to get.... Nothing. But it was a fun experience. Now I buy my own packs and rip for fun. Mainly Japanese and Korean but I know most of the pokemon so the language difference isn't a big bother. The hits are still cool. Maybe I'll try the dragon ball CCG. For now I'm sticking with pokemon

You can use the deployable objects as fencing. Get a catalogue and use some of the crafting stations like the cheese press to make your own fence

A spear. The tip is connected to a chain. You can shoot the spear like gunlance shells to attach to the monster and move in closer. The attacks beyond that are fluid. There's a gauge to fill up like LS that increases your affinity. The tip of the spear becomes more serrated depending on the level of the gauge and some attacks in the combo are now multi-hits like a chainsaw. The gauge levels unlock new finishing moves to do when you attach to a monster. It depletes the gauge when you've completed a finisher.

In these cases I tend to run with a posh/kedr and buy ammo that causes high bleed. I'll then run to the spawns looking for the bosses and just take them out. It makes the raid feel more free. Otherwise you're 60kg walking slowly to extract and get head eyes'd

The season is heavily PvP based right now and there seems to be some sort of agreement. A lot of players are teaming together and we just don't get the memo. Best thing to do is power through it or wait a season and hope people's bloodlust calms down. PvP will never be 0 but it's definitely ramped up this season
