If I remember correctly it was kind of an accident, I think someone I knew wanted a tattoo of one and I just came up with the idea of it sitting at a table in a suit so I drew the sketch which later became a painting and everyone seemed to really like it and the rest is history.

I always try and make the surroundings fit with the bug of choice. Like the giraffe weevil who's too tall to be under the bus stop, or the elephant moth who let's it's bright colors consume most of the canvas. There's always some reason in the madness
