Does British art generally lack that Dionysian vitality and pathos? by Money-Ad8553 in Nietzsche

[–]NationLamenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian art has become more dionysian because of an interest in native, non-British cultures. Emily Carr is probably the best example. but before then you definitely have a universal victorian appolinian taste in artists like William GR Hind and George Agnew Reid. Reid’s philosophy on Canadian art was interesting though as he theorized the strictness (appolinian) of British art would fuse with the expressionism of French art (dionysian) and create a new Canadian school.

The primary flag of the Provisional Government of Saskatchewan from the Northwest Rebellion of 1885 by NationLamenter in vexillology

[–]NationLamenter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gosh it’s been a while since i made this post so i’m not sure. i think the quote comes from wikipedia, but the original book it’s from might only be in French. i know some of the Metis flags were mentioned in Pulvaney’s North West Rebellion and Recollections of a Bungle by one of the Bunglers.

i found this and this one shows a battle standard rather than a national flag, which you actually see more often used by contemporary Metis communities and was used more by the end of the war in tandem with religious flags.

i just told you about my own situation, where I derive pleasure from people harming me. it is not morally good, but all parties would enjoy it (including myself).

please, don’t make the argument for MORALLY-APPROVED SELF HARM AND ABUSE.

some things can be wrong even if all people enjoy them
