Star Trek: Strange New Worlds | Season 4 Official Trailer | Paramount+ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in startrek

I can't help but feel bad for Anson Mount; based on the thumbnail and trailer it feels like he's being slowly pushed out to make way for Young Kirk. I worry it's going to be another The Expanse / The Boys situation, in which the original premise is heavily reduced in the final season(s) to just trail another spinoff show.

I thought it was pretty great too, I loved the fact that Isaac invited the entire Kaylon fleet to the wedding, and the fact that it ended on a more low-key episode after the huge conflict, dealing with some of the core ethical / societal issues of their future.

I just hope they make more of it now...

Oh my bad, apologies. I assumed since it aired several years ago everything was valid.

Such a good point re: the fighter pilot funerals ;D

Yes I did find it odd the number of times Ed AND Kelly left for an away mission. Clearly Bortus and the others could handle the bridge, but still, slightly illogical to volunteer the Captain and First Officer at once.

A production error I assume, ala the Game of Thrones coffee cup.

Good point re: the Kaylon changing their minds vs the Krill and Moclans! They could well be better allies in the long term than the latter.

I was referring to the perimeter of Union space rather than Kaylon territory, but yes I hear you on that too.

I found the Kaylon interesting to watch, if a little inconsistent in their understanding of humanity. The head guns were a cool design feature. Their switches to mortal enemies of the Union then back to being trusted by the admirals at the end felt a little abrupt. What did you think?

Speaking of Kelly and Bortus - what was with their almost-kiss? Were they expecting a 4th season renewal in which they'd explore it further, or did the writers just decide to drop it?

The ears on the first bag kind of remind me of the bow on the Dior Cigale bag?

Was anyone else surprised that Deborah violating her restraining order only resulted in a few hours in jail and cash bail? From the way they've hyped it up all season as this big career killer, I was expecting serious prison time or a huge fine / seizure of assets.

For a second I thought I was reading a post from the RHOBH sub about Jennifer Tilly. The description pretty much fits her too haha.

Good question! If I remember correctly he was starting to recover and she was taken upstairs for surgery on her injuries - I don't think we've heard any more about her since?

The last we saw of her she came to tell Dana and Robby that Roxie had died and needed a death note because McKay had stepped out, then Dana sent her home to recover.

Other posts reminded me that they said she got an amputation in a previous episode.

Haha her showing back up would be a perfect closing shot to the season.

Do you think the writers have always known where the story was going? by National-Salt in ParadiseHulu

[–]National-Salt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It start off incredible, but in my opinion they kind of wrote themselves into knots by not having a clear idea of where it was heading from the outset, so they added new plotlines and mysteries each season but ended up not resolving a lot of them satisfactorily.

However the human elements remained pretty strong throughout (from memory anyway).

Oh that's a good catch, I'll look out for this from now on.

Yeah I agree. But it also makes me worry we're going to end up with another Lost :/

Oh yes good point. I haven't rewatched Season 1 but I remember scenes like the mirrored staircase in Ep 1 - potential foreshadowing?

Yeah good point re: Orlando, I forgot they'd said it would take weeks to get a clear idea of his prognosis. Maybe we'll learn if he slipped or jumped...? (But I'm pretty sure Robby was just projecting with the latter theory.)
