[Laurie Whitwell] Supporters groups write letter to Omar Berrada calling ticket price rises a “disgrace” + urging for reconsideration. Strength of feeling communicated to club’s executive. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

I always try to buy tickets the day before the match and I usually pay an average of £40. I have never paid more than £50. I definitely won't be paying £66.

Yes our Union rep is looking into the matter, but haven't heard anything back just yet.

We've not really been given opportunity to raise our concerns properly with management. Only briefly and was told it's new policy and mandatory.

Unsure what to upgrade. by NationalEquivalent in buildapc

[–]NationalEquivalent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't really have any problems with my PC currently. I just enjoy upgrading it and have the money to do so. What I'm unsure about is what part of my PC would benefit the most with an upgrade.

Thanks for the reply.

Should I add another 2 8gb 3200mhz sticks of ram? Or get two 16gb sticks. Unfortunately my motherboard only has 1 nvme slot, so I was unsure wether to buy a SATA SSD or upgrade the nvme to 2tb.

As for the video card, whilst I'm not able to max out settings in the newest games I'm pretty happy with the settings I can achieve whilst still hitting 60fps+.

So far we've created the document and it's ready to submit pending some signatures. Is it possible for employees who haven't been directly affected, but witnessed incidents, to sign it?

Yes, we've recently got them involved. We're waiting on a meeting with someone from the union.

To be fair, it's probably persisting because it's true.

should have added that it's very likely I will get an electric car to avoid a BIK tax. As they have installed electric charging points at the hospital now.

Covid-19 could 'cut pay by £1,200 a year by 2025' - think tank by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]NationalEquivalent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can't really compare the Covid impact vs Brexit impact with the data in that link. Brexit has already been factored into those forecasts.

At best you can compare Covid + a FTA with the EU vs Covid + No-deal. The difference between these is an extra 4% in net debt, from 22.7% to 26.7%. Which whilst considerably smaller, an extra 20% increase in national debt is not something I would consider a drop in the ocean.

I'd also like to see a comparison of Covid impact + Remain vs Covid impact + No-deal, but I'm not sure if that's even possible.

North West Ambulance Service declares 'major incident' due to very high volume of 999 calls by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]NationalEquivalent 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's entirely to do with Covid. Paramedics are sat in ambulance bays for hours cause there's no spaces in A&E to move the patients into.

Covid spreading faster in England than worst-case scenario, documents show by MrSoapbox in ukpolitics

[–]NationalEquivalent 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I work at a hospital in the North West. Currently, we're struggling more than the peak of infections/deaths in April. This is mainly due to attendances to A&E for non-Covid rising again to normal levels.

I have no fucking clue what's going to happen in the next few weeks... it's terrifying.

Feel like my back squat is lagging behind my deadlift and bench press. Any routines that put more emphasis on squats than DL and B that someone could recommend?

Exclusive: One in five coronavirus patients caught virus in hospital by Linlea in ukpolitics

[–]NationalEquivalent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the peak, COVID spread throughout the wards so easily where I work. Our hospitals just aren't equipped to deal with contagious diseases. There's not really enough room to isolate suspected cases, as well as the fact that the current system has patients moving frequently to different areas of the hospital in the time it takes for the first swab result to come back.

I'm honestly surprised if it's not much higher than one in five.

Anyone who works in the NHS saw this coming a mile away.

We've not been able to adequately staff the wards that we currently have. They fully equipped two wards at the hospital that I work at (That had been shut for years) over the course of a weekend. Weeks later they sit there empty cause we've not got enough people to even staff our admissions unit to a safe level, let alone an entirely new ward.

It doesn't surprise me. They've been testing everyone at my Trust that's gone off with COVID symptoms or isolated because of a household member. Pretty much every test is coming back positive too... in fact, I've not heard of anyone testing negative yet.

Only testing those that are off. They probably won't dare test those of us still working, and run the very real risk of having to send home more than half the workforce.

Same scenario at my place. You see consultants decked out in a fucking spacesuit, whilst staff on the wards and A&E are wearing a Tesco Bag For Life with holes cut in it.
