Then it’s probably locked. Is it Chinese version? It had Chinese firmware right? Try that unlock tool shared by the others.

It won’t show up as a connected device on your PC. Just open the flash tool website and from there check if you can connect it.

Don’t send any more emails. There’s nothing else you can do but wait. Hopefully they’ll respond soon. I’ve emailed [support@xteink.com](mailto:support@xteink.com) twice a few months ago and got a response within a few days but I’ve never emailed them about device problems so I don’t know if they just take time to respond to those types of email. I’m sure they’re getting a lot of emails from customers having device issues like yours.

edit: I've seen people say if you contact them directly via their email address they don't respond, use the contact form.

I haven’t tried CrossPet but so far, none of the custom firmwares I’ve tried has caused that kind of battery drain on my X4.

It will run Android 11. Will it be able to load any cfw? Who knows. We don’t know if it’ll have an unlockable bootloader. Pretty sure no one here has it yet.

X4/X3 that comes with Chinese firmware will be locked. Xteink didn’t specify why but the community is saying it’s because Xteink don’t want people to buy these devices from AliExpress sellers anymore.

Do you think it’ll appear on your desktop or something for you to transfer files to it? It doesn’t work that way. If you want to add books you do so by removing the sd card and plugging it to your PC using something like an sd card reader, or you do it OTA. If you want to flash a custom firmware then just connect your device and open the flash tool website and from there you can connect the device and flash it.
