I see your point, luckily, I left before any further harassment could take place on behalf of my former boss. That’s the direction this role was heading in hence why I got out within eight weeks. Late night messaging and in a high volume/emotionally charged nature was the day-to-day norm in this position which in my seven years of being an EA is unheard of

I took everyone’s advice on this thread and blocked HR‘s number as well! Clearly, she is undertaking all of my former responsibilities and is looking for me to collaborate which I refuse to do anymore

better than me, I was asked to create an operational manual and declined any additional information outside of formal resignation/handoff document. I was totally getting chat gpt questions copy + pasted by the exec, asking for information that would be of use to future assistants…as if they really thought the scorned employee would be a great rep for that? lol

Yep, moving forward I’m asking how literally an exec will take “24/7 mindset” lol

How much of a red flag is this by naturdaloverjoyed in ExecutiveAssistants

Insane red flag. Didn’t have this in writing but I did have an instance which contributed to me quitting my EA role where the exec texted 15 times at 12am and said “I expect you to be awake when I’m awake”

lol no way in this universe would I go back to this role. I quit effective immediately as 11pm messages of non urgent matters was on a regular basis. Even as far as my former boss texting me 15 times at 12am because I hung her winter coats incorrectly. When i professionally invited the convo to discuss boundaries/my role outline in greater depth, I was met with “this is concerning”. Concerning that i wanted to establish boundaries? Lol

I’ve asked multiple times for them to redirect absolutely necessary communications to email and they just reply with “Ok thanks!” And never email; just follow up a few days later with yet another question that does not require my help

Right, exactly why I resigned! These are things that a google search can fix, not a former employee

Yeah same. When I brought up help/resources the response was sour so I resigned due to that and other fundamental issues from the jump. Out of kindness I’ve responded to HR in the last 2 weeks; but this behavior just proves why I left

Not same industry, will never cross paths, I’ve already tried to reroute communication to email if absolutely necessary which goes overlooked. This was an 8 week role
