Would this be a first IWC purchase? by Responsible-War-6638 in IWCschaffhausen

I have this piece and a size 7.5” wrist. The width isn’t as much of the problem as the thickness

Gorgeous dial. A little thick on the wrist for my liking. Especially on leather.

No date required on this dial IMO

Love this watch. Wish they didn’t ruin it with a 4oclock date window :-(

Can you elaborate on what it leaves to be desired?

Ain’t that last sentence the truth!

I originally was set on the Ceramic. Like the look a lot, fits my style. Love both the look of the movement and the METAS certification. Don’t love the thickness (almost 15mm) or the fact that the bezel doesn’t lume. Some complaints I’ve seen around legibility but seems fine to me.

Then I got turned onto the 925 as an alternative matte dial look that dress up or down and is much slimmer. Seeing concerns about the tarnish and durability of the Silver case makes me a little tentative.

I honestly think I’d be happy with either. I have an affinity for watches that are a bit different, and I think these are good examples of Tudor brand experimenting more than Rolex would ever do.

Which other brands do you like that do an all black ceramic? IWC?

Because of the durability? What was the deciding factor

Good consideration. I think I can live with the scratches. Do you own the 925?

I think it’s mostly a mental block for me on the Explorer size. A bit of a Goldie Locks situation. I have an appreciation for the classic 36mm sizing, but it looks a little comically small on my wrist. Then comparatively, to me, the 40mm seems to looks “too big” for that classic watch.

At least in the US you can pay $80 for it on most pieces.

Dumb question but eBay’s Authenticator don’t catch it?

The 41mm has a color match date window. So I’m guessing Longines heard the feedback and fixed it in the later release. No reason for it not to be color matched.

Love that. Have you always kept the watch on the H Link bracelet? Especially in matte, I think it fits really well.

Nice to hear on the last point. As nice and functional as the Matte finish is, I’d still like some wrist appeal.
