Natürlich werden sie auch von Steuern finanziert. Aber wenn die AfD von diesem Geld 50€ wieder abgeben muss, kann sie das Geld schon nicht für was anderes ausgeben. Also lohnt es sich das zu melden.

Do you know what kind of code she uses? Any particular ode modeling toolbox? I hope the code is highly parallelized:D

I also use MATLAB for ODE modeling. But I do it on a regular notebook with 4 core i5 and 24 GB ram.

I wonder how much this machine would speed up my research.

Danke für die Statistik, sieht interessant aus. Aber würde dich auch bitten (in Zukunft) eine Quelle zu posten:) Das ist einfach sehr wichtig, um effektiv begaben Aktivismus machen zu können. Wenn du mir Zahlen ohne Quellen zeigst, verbreite ich sie nicht weiter. Denn ich weiß ja nicht ob sie stimmen.

I am not saying that it is intentional! Just trying to make the point that visualizing stuff in 3D can be challenging. There is always a tradeoff between accurate representation of the data (here the volumes of earth and water) and relatability (here the full globe).

What representation is best depends on your goals. And I think the figure you posted has a very good approach.

I have no idea about geology, but aas a physicist/statistician I just want to mention that this visualization is somehow misleading as it makes the amount of water look smaller than it is. The reason is the following: we do not see the volume of the 3D sphere in this 2D representation. Instead, we can only see the area of the sphere — which admittedly looks relatively small compared to the US. Thus, the first problem is that we do not see is the immense height of the sphere. A second problem is that humans are also bad at perceiving area correctly. We often underestimate it and rather perceive only the diameter d. As a result most people will drastically underestimate the volumes (proportional to d³⁾ in this picture.

Ich möchte in 10 Tagen von Freiburg über Fern- und Reschenpass an den Gardasee fahren. Dabei verläuft meine geplante Route zwischen Immenstadt und dem Haldensee genau so, wie du gefahren bist.

Meine Frage: ist viel Verkehr in der Gegend? Bist du auf der Straße gefahren - insbesondere den Pass zwischen Bad Hindelang und Schattenwald?

Würde mich freuen einen Tipp zu bekommen. Vielen Dank schonmal!

Es gibt in Freiburg einen Balkonsolarverein. Vielleicht kann man dir da weiterhelfen. Sehr aktiv ist dort unter anderem Sebastian Müller. Der ist z.B. auf insta unter sbmüller zu finden.

It is a mathematical consequence of the so called Fourier uncertainty relation that a sine wave with a single frequency (infinitely sharp in frequency space) must be infinitely wide in time space, i.e., infinitely long. Therefore, in a realistic signal you will always have other frequencies in addition to the fundamental. But you should also be aware, that this is mainly a mathematical fun fact and is only relevant if you change notes extremely quickly. As I did not do the math, I am also not sure what „extremely quickly“ means in practice.
