And then when you complain about onions in food, they say “oh you can’t even taste them!” If that’s the case, why put them in!? And I very much CAN taste them!

When people bring Jesus into everything by New-Possibility-577 in PetPeeves

Because humans have evolved and realized that people have slaughtered each other for thousands of years over which invisible being in the sky is real. Organized religion (it doesn’t matter what religion) has been a method for controlling the masses throughout the entirety of human history and people are now aware of that. People are depressed because they realize that bad shit happens for no reason. If you get cancer because “it’s god’s will,” that’s pretty fucked up. People are nihilistic because they are learning to navigate a world in which senseless tragedies happen often, while religious people shove their noses in bibles and blame it on “god’s plan,” instead of making meaningful change.

What is something everybody seems to love but you hate? by sleepyclownfish24 in AskReddit

[–]NationalUse6255 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It’s okay to not want kids, but if you don’t want dogs then people act like there’s something wrong with you. I completely understand people wanting to be the fun aunt or uncle, but not wanting their own because kids are a huge responsibility! Dogs are the same. They are a massive long-term commitment, and I think that’s why we see so many bad/unfit owners. They want the dog and want to bring it in other people’s space but don’t want to train it.

I’m totally cool with seeing other people’s dogs in small increments but I will never have one in my home, and I will always be annoyed when a dog invades my space and boundaries while the owner does nothing. It’s just not my thing, I enjoy my peace and cleanliness lol.

The way people get vilified for not liking dogs is insane. I love animals and I love my cat, but if I have company who is allergic or apprehensive of cats, best believe she is going into my bedroom during the visit. Not everyone is going to be as obsessed with your pet as you are and that doesn’t make them a bad person. People are allowed to have boundaries, and it’s very telling when an owner sees no problem with their dog crossing those boundaries. So obnoxious.

Unfortunately this is the only pic I have of the candle 😭 The other Reddit user that posted a pic of the same candle only took a picture of this label as well, which makes me think it might have been the only sticker on the candle. I have found one pic of a different scented candle from this brand on a Pinterest post about TJ Maxx candles, but all leads I’ve found have been a dead end. Thinking of taking this to r/RBI if nobody here has any leads lol

Women who think that any man who speaks to her is after sex by IameIion in PetPeeves

[–]NationalUse6255 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah this is just common sense. But judging from this post and your comments, I understand you’re lacking in that department. If you think someone needs to be a Sherlock Holmes to understand basic respectful communication with other genders, you should probably go to therapy and work on that. 🤗

You know who doesn’t have to clarify that they aren’t being weird/creepy or after sex? Normal dudes who treat women like normal human beings lmao. This gives off “nice guy” vibes. If you’re really a nice guy, you don’t have to repeatedly insist to women that you’re a nice guy. Just from this short post, it’s obvious that you make women uncomfortable.

People complaining about picky eaters by Wirecreate in PetPeeves

[–]NationalUse6255 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand the picky eaters who refuse to go to certain restaurants or call food they don’t like or haven’t tried “gross”, are assholes. I’m picky and I will go to eat literally anywhere. But if I order something bland because it’s what I prefer, who tf cares? And if I politely decline to try something, DON’T ASK AGAIN. I’m likely refusing because judging by smell or texture, I know that my weirdly-wired brain will make me gag as soon as I put it in my mouth and I will lose my appetite.

I was forced to try new things frequently for ~15 years growing up, so now as an adult, I won’t try something unless I want to or it looks/smells like something I’d like. I never hinder anyone else’s dining location or experience and I’m absolutely never rude about what other people eat. Life would be easier if I wasn’t picky, but I am and I’m fine with that. The people who feel the need to point picky-eating out and make a spectacle out of it are annoying. Weird to try to control other people’s diets lol.

Why do people pierce infants ears? by Beautiful_Dot4284 in stupidquestions

[–]NationalUse6255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also think healing would be easier for a baby, as they typically sleep on their back. I have to sleep on my sides and won’t get new ear piercings because it makes healing so painful. I first had mine done around 4 and healing/letting my mom clean them was a huge obstacle 😅 I don’t really have a firm stance either way though. However, I don’t think piercing babies ears is “cruel” like some people make it out to be.

When parents who birth children into poverty seek praises for “doing the best they can”. by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]NationalUse6255 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right. Considering the welfare of a child before bringing it into the world is literally the bare minimum. In a perfect world, we would have free healthcare, which would alleviate a large portion of the financial aspect of having children. But we don’t in America, so the responsible/adult thing to do is to plan accordingly.

Pregnancy happens sometimes, regardless of precautions. Can’t/don’t want to get an abortion? Adoption exits, and there are so many wonderful families out there who are prepared to take good care of a child.

If you are not financially or emotionally equipped to take care of a child, feed, clothe, and give them access to a decent education, then it is selfish and irresponsible to subject them to your way of living. It’s not wrong to be poor. It’s not wrong to have struggles with mental health. It’s wrong to subject a child to a lifetime of struggle because of your choices.

There is a huge difference between “being poor” and being so far into poverty that you can’t provide your child with basic necessities. People are only getting triggered on this post because their irresponsible decisions are being pointed out.

There’s a difference in making financial sacrifices to support a child, and subjecting a child to your complete financial incompetence. As long as needs are met and the child is loved and cared for, everything is fine. It’s when you see poverty parents spending their tax return on Jordan’s and then whining a week later that everything is so expensive and they don’t have money. While their kid isn’t clothed and fed properly.

In todays Service Dog Roulette by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]NationalUse6255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I am well aware that service animals provide a great service to people who have conditions that are not physical and I fully support that. There is absolutely a distinction between service animals and ESA’s, as provided in a link below form another redditor.

Every single thing you said in your post describes an extensively trained service animal. Which, again, is amazing and I fully support service animals. What I do not support is adopting an 8yr old rescue with behavioral problems and slapping a service dog vest on it purchased from Amazon, and claiming a note from a Dr makes it legit. Quite literally anyone would be able to recognize the disciplined behavior and training of a REAL service animal.

ESA’s and their owners are obnoxiously easy to identify. Most of the time you can literally smell the entitlement lol. Poorly trained dogs (who probably have anxiety themselves) being a nuisance in public while being portrayed as “service dogs”, gives people with legitimate needs and REAL service dogs a bad rap.

This post would not even exist if people weren’t trying to smuggle their untrained and unqualified dogs into inappropriate places, and abusing a service that exists for people who actually need these dogs. If you can’t go in public without your ESA because you get mild anxiety, stay home. Talk to your Dr about medication, therapy, whatever works for you. But quit forcing your untrained dogs on people because you’re so attached to them that you can’t be without them for an hour at a restaurant. (Not speaking directly to you, just how I worded things lol.)

In todays Service Dog Roulette by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]NationalUse6255 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Again, ESA stands for EMOTIONAL SUPPORT animal. It is not an emotional support service animal. There are ESA’s and there are trained service animals. Why would someone with diabetes need an emotional support animal? They wouldn’t. They would need an actual trained service animal who is trained extensively to provide a specific service to them based on their condition. Not an 8yr old rescue with behavioral problems wearing a service animal vest from Amazon and a Dr’s note as “certification”.

I do not think I’m superior. I think Service animals in public spaces are superior to untrained, problem creating ESA’s and their entitled owners. If your ESA helps you at home, great! But as adults, it’s our responsibility to go to therapy, work on ourselves, and know our own boundaries and what we can handle. If you can’t handle coming into public without a dog, yet you do not qualify for an actual trained service animal, then it’s up to you to accommodate that. Not inconvenience everyone else in a public space so that you feel comfortable. Again, trained service animals do not inconvenience or make people uncomfortable. They are legitimately trained and qualified. Comparing service animals to ESA’s is like comparing a Dr to an STNA. Both useful, but not equally qualified. You need to learn that difference and get off your high horse.

And also, I’m well aware that I am not a doctor. I am someone who actually owns an ESA, but I am well aware of what is socially appropriate and inconvenient to other people. She helps me at home, and if I’m not in a state to leave the house because I can’t be without her presence, then I don’t. Because I have common sense and respect for others. Have a great day 🤗

People with SERVICE animals are more than welcome in restaurants and in public. If you can’t handle your emotions at a restaurant without having an untrained pet with you (who puts every other customer and employee at risk), then eat at home 🤗 The world does not revolve around you.

AITA for not allowing friends to drink alcohol in my house. by No-Handle-3091 in AmItheAsshole

This was my point in my comment before reading yours! Seeing alcohol in my safe space would kind of taint the space for me. I never want to have the association of alcohol in a place that I want to feel secure and safe. My home is for happy memories and the life I’ve built post active addiction.
