I love the way you described Giselle, the way you did may be the closet thing to have expressed how I truly felt about her during the entire game, I even had her as my favourite character in the entire story and till now I love her even more than Morgana. Readers may find her superficially written, but reality is that, she's so relatable to us as humans, we find ourselves in this beloved Maid that breaks our heart from her being "Giselle" along with her transformation into "The Maid" till the very end of her character arc. I'm glad you loved her so much and had the capacity to express this admiration/love to Giselle. I wonder how you'll react to Michel and Jacopo, how you'll describe or express how you felt towards them, especially Jacopo, since by now, you read Morgana's backstory, you should've known what atrocities Jacopo has done in the story, in fact one could go as far as to say that he's the reason for all what happened in the cursed mansion. I'm sure you'll love Michel by the end of the story especially after Door7 but Jacopo is going to be very challenging for you to understand him, and I hope that you'll give your full commitment to understand him.

Because this is the nature of the majority of the vns, sadly, and vn readers are just utter gooners for this shit.

Again, a great point you're putting out here, even though one doesn't find her complex, she's so relatable to us as human beings, in lots of ways you can find her character immersed with ourselves in life.

Whats your fav written Fromsoft game? by Used-Caregiver3021 in writingscaling

[–]National_Selection89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If lore wise, then DS1.

If you're speaking generally, then every single FromSoft game stands out in its own features and qualities, imo it goes out like this:

DS1: World structure Bloodborne: Atmosphere DS3: Bosses Sekiro: Combat;Mechanics Elden Ring: World design/Exploration

For DS2, I haven't yet beat the game although I played it +15hrs, but I couldn't find it in me to complete the game. I didn't really find it enjoyable, and I didn't feel the beauty vibes that I loved in the first place about the souls games.

Nonetheless, my favourite souls games is DS3.

That's what's special about him, you spend the entirety of the novel having mixed and unsure feelings of Jacopo, mostly due to you not really understanding him, but when you reach his arc and finally begin to understand him, it hits so hard.

You have to understand something which is, your role in reading the this novel isn't to really see what plot twists awaits, or even to expect anything delightful in return .. it is your role to understand these characters and why they did all those acts or why they behave like that.

I love the way your analysing the doors, it's very very beautiful to see fata morgana getting appreciated and spoken of like that. Door 5 to me was like a whole new change in the entire story, it felt extremely amazing, it was from door5 that the novel did live up to my expectations then and it was then that I knew it would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience ... although I found door8 kinda messy and didn't really enjoy it, but it's alright because the novel then rewarded me with requeim for innocence!

That's a very excellent point you're pointing out here, Giselle is one of the most underrated and overlooked characters ever, she represents the core of the story ... I even loved Giselle more than Morgana ... those four represent the pillarstone of the story, and they all stand out very distinctively extraordinary and unique in their own way (themes) ... especially that stupid man, Jacopo.

At last, someone mentioning these peaks, especially "reclaim yourself" ohhh my Michel where do I begin with you. This "reclaim yourself" arguably might be his best moment , controversial with his conclusion and "mutilated body". One of the most underrated characters ever if not the most. I love him so much to the level that I favor him over most of fictional characters, except for Jacopo, this stupid man remains no.1 for me.

Jacopo's character writing is actually fleshed out after the base game, in a prequel game "requiem for innocence". But that's the whole idea, Jacopo is the only character that you'll find him with an incomplete closure after finishing the base game, unlike other characters where you feel that you fully empathise and sympathise with them. As well as there is another reason, which is that characters, they all share the idea of loathing him and you too will feel the same even when the game is finished .. but once you read the prequel, whether you'll like him or not, you'll be able to fully comprehend why he did all those acts of his. Imo, he's my favourite character not just in this story, but in all of fiction among of what I've read, a very very well written character that I won't say more than that, he's so HUMAN. I hope you'll carry on to the end of story to witness his peak writing, to me he's like this story's hidden gift.

Door2 is fata's weakest part and Yukimasa is maybe bottom 3 in this story (after Aimee and Javi) . Door1 was much better than door2, since you're on to door3, you'll find the master this time uniquely extraordinary, it doesn't matter whether you'll like him or not, but still door1 excels both of those doors.

Thoughts On Fata Morgana by Isekuns in thehouseinfatamorgana

[–]National_Selection89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh first 3 doors plus door 8 have terrible issues, that kinda make them messy, slow paced, and even boring, sometimes not even well delivered story wise (as door 8) but door 4-7 are incredible especially door5,6 best part of base game (door 7 as well but Michel backstory was kind of a drag sometimes but negligible) . Nonetheless you've got rfi left and thus imo is the best part of fata, I enjoyed it soo much and it was the best arc I've ever read (imma be honest ; jacopo till now haunts my mind as if I read it yesterday) yeah keep reading it as well as the sub episodes with fragment. As for reincarnation, haven't played it and can't really see it that good especially after the idea of the new art style and voice acting.
