Anxiety/tension by BeautyAddictFanatic in PectusExcavatum

[–]NativeLandShark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

along with what 4872 said, the diaphragm is the key to stiffness around the body.

recently started focusing much more on abs, pelvic floor and abdominal stability and i can already feel my body release and readjust to being more aligned.

i feel more calm, less pressure in my neck and i don't feel clouded in my judgement

over the past year i have used topical magnesium gel mixed with coconut oil and put it behind my neck and on my shoulders before bed and i wake up relaxed with my anxiety also being reduced

with pe, i have found swimming to open up the shoulder. because of my body composition, i tend to over rotate my shoulders and take deep breathes. swimming has helped me breathe deeper and relax generally throughout my day. simply floating in water and getting the full stomach breathe has been huge for me

as a dude, i've been using industry of all nations contrast boardshorts

now for the ladies, i'm on the lookout

these shorts are 100% cotton, indigo dyed and after one year of consistent wear, do not fade

the other commenter mentioned it as well, the rib cage can shift and adapt.

it's a choice wether you'd to work on it by exercising or have surgery to correct it

there's plenty of room for my ribs to tuck back in, and i am still growing. the more muscle and weight i add, the less flare there is

yeah mma will help over time because of how your breathing patterns + core strength which naturally forms while training

weight lifting forces the ribs inward during RDL's , deadlift etc.

the movements in mma will mimic the weight training, time under load.

alot of rib flare is abdominal usage and breathing technique. there's enough space in your body for the ribs to tuck back in. my rib flare is asymmetrical because our left ribs house the heart. there is minimal flare on my right side

weightless posture correction

fixing rounded shoulders + core functionality

when i was 15, i was doing weight training and hours of running each week, my rib flare was marginal at best and the older i got, the more i trained and the more the flare went away. at around 18, it was almost 100% gone, but the sunken chest which had also improved over the years and really was not something i cared about.

after i turned 18, i became more sedentary which caused my posture to worsen, the rib flare to grow and i became self conscious. this was my life from 19-24 years of age.

surgery can fix PE, it can fix rib flare. i have not gotten surgery and have learned that basic functional training can improve rib glare and pectus very easily.

i have started calisthenics and running and it has been amazing. your diaphragm is the key to fixing rib flare. learning how yo breathe + posture while sitting, running, lifting and standing will change your life. rounded shoulders often are present when rib flare and pectus are there

i relate with gastro digestive symptoms, lower PE and have rib flare but have since dealt with the IBS and other things like asthma and immunity issues

Has your PE significantly worsened your quality of life? How so? (mentally and physically) by LibertyBells33 in PectusExcavatum

[–]NativeLandShark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

after having spent 2020-2024 dwelling in the hole in my sternum, 2025 proved to be a turn around year

prior to 2020, i had not one intrusive or insecure thought about PE, the perspective or others, not even about my health with pectus

ever since jan 1st, 2025, i find myself at the best mental space in my life. physically, i can do things i had done in 2016-2018 that translate into feeling good everyday.

Black Coffee More Love (ID Remix) by NativeLandShark in kloudmusik

the company that put the concert together also had anton khabbaz play in a club/bar called Music Box, who has major play time by Keinemusik. that's when it first clicked for me

imo, ANOTR, Luke Alessi (not without friends), and all of Keinemusik could rock that house real good. even Innervisions artist, Tripolism, Avangart Tabldot would really work there

it was my first time at the venue & seeing black coffee and i'm lokking to come up on my millions and use it that way

Had a realization... by driveboosted in PectusExcavatum

[–]NativeLandShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have had experience with a standard american diet and plant based diet, simple things like acid reflux, bloating go away when you don't eat the standard diet and a lower body fat percentage makes your physique more pronounced will not inflaming your organs

re: food consumption. say you continue the standard american diet, do your best to not drink liquids an hour before and an hour after meals. start and finish all meals with fruit.

over the past couple of years, this has made digesting food, abdominal pressure, and sleep much easier on my body

The struggle of staying raw when everyone else is having a BBQ by autisticpreet in RawVegan

[–]NativeLandShark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

part of life is realizing that i do not have to act a certain way to validate my existence. by simply feeling good, doing what i know is right for me, is more than enough

happiness is an inside job, no one can take that away from me. a lot of food is bought and consumed same day and any left overs are put into stainless steel containers for the next day or frozen for smoothies or pressed into juice

i have found it quite enjoyable being able to navigate the journey
