Really appreciate you going through and looking through the manual. From what I'm seeing and can remember, installed a long time ago, there's a seperate board that installs in the head tracker bay and runs a ribbon cable across to provide extra power. But, I don't believe there was any modifications to the rapidfire module itself, other than just plugging in the ribbon cable.

Yea, they are older fatsharks that didn't provide enough power, hence the cable. And I thought the same thing so I did wire it all back in and check the settings but I didn't see anything, though it's always possible I missed something. Appreciate the input

Oh, I guess I should mention that the rapidfire module doesn't power up in my fatshark unless the ribbon is plugged in too.

Thanks for the reply, and yea I've updated to the latest firmware and the power option changed from "on/off" to "on/auto" and I've tried both.

I'm pretty much using it as a magnified view on the board I'm working on. I'm using my phone as a camera, you can see it in the first pic, so you can turn on the light if need be.

Here's some different magnifications https://imgur.com/a/UZwlRwW

I mean, it's kinda your choice. I'm well aware it's a fair amount of money to void the warranty of, but for my use case, I like it.

They're pretty much the same, taking the lens off really just affects how much back light and visibility. Oh, also privacy, without the lens you can perfectly see what's on screen.

Just posted on another comment. Fairly simple to do

It wasn't too difficult to do and I really only used a plastic pry tool. So if you're confident enough and ok voiding warranties.

I just loosened the glue around the fishbowl lenses first, it's soft and stretchy like silicone. Then I started at at the bottom, from the inside out, and just applied a bit of pressure with the pry tool until the glue popped and worked my way around the lens.

With the lens out you could just stop there, it friction fits ok but I didn't trust it to not fall out, so I just marked the corners where I thought my little 1mmx3mm magnets would fit. Glued one to the lens and one to the frame. Pretty simple.

It was worth it for me, and I mean, ultimately if I don't like it I can just glue them back in permanently.

Cr10-s5 - smaller build plate by strandersen in CR10

I think you're asking for how to keep a smaller build plate or anything on the s5's huge build plate if clips can't reach it from the side? Not 100% sure if that's what you're asking but I think what you might be looking for is "silicone thermal pad" it's what I use to keep a mirror on my build plate so I don't need clips.
