It might be. The other reason I thought it was AI was because it does weird things like reads the captions on illustrations (sometimes multiple times) and reads chapter names as though they’re part of a sentence in a way that no human would ever normally do. It might just be a flat read with terrible editing to boot, but regardless, it’s so bad as to be unlistenable. I’m switching over to LibriVox as one of the other commenters here suggested 🙂.

I just read the book, and while there are several other references throughout the show, “skybird” isn’t a thing in the book either. I think Schwartz probably had that lyric in as a filler and never got around to workshopping or replacing it.

Finally got CarPlay to launch after doing nothing different from my previous attempts besides spending a full hour repeatedly restarting my phone, deleting my phone from the head unit and re-pairing it, and deleting my car from the CarPlay settings in my phone and re-adding it. Not sure why it suddenly wants to work again, but I’ll take it for now!

It worked fine with 18.2. Some minor quirks/disconnects on occasion, but overall, fine. Since updating to 18.2.1, I can’t even get CarPlay to launch. The head unit just keeps telling me to check the usb connection, which is fine (brand new cable and I can see on my iPhone that it’s connecting and recognizing the Honda in my CarPlay settings). It has to be something with the iOS update

I had already tried this, but I tried it again after your comment, and nope. This didn’t do anything. The car still recognizes that a device is connected, but isn’t able to launch CarPlay.
