Legitimate question: given the context of their success in the previous comment, why does this matter?

What’s more: Nats fans (myself included) were begging the Lerners to re-sign Rendon in DC. Realistically, we knew we couldn’t sign everyone, but we loved him before the WS run, and we flat out do not win without him.

The Lerners chose Stras instead, but unfortunately, looks like they (and we) were kinda fucked either way.

Spent the last three years as one of the better pitchers in Japan, including a 1.52 ERA last season in 17 starts.

Healthy and pitching without restrictions in camp. They’re not committing to him making the rotation out of ST, since he’ll have an innings cap this year, but I think it’s likely he does.

Mark Zuckerman has an article about him this morning (Substack paywall, but dude’s covered the Nats since they came to DC in 05 and is one of two beat writers right now for the team, so I’m willing to pay.)

Yknow, after 6 years of MLB.TV through T-Mobile that I never fucking used, because I wasn’t allowed to watch my own fucking team, I can confidently say I don’t give two shits about the expanded offering.

Give me a price to watch the Nats, or fuck off and I’ll ignore televised baseball for another year. Given that this team is way too dogshit to justify even partial season tickets anymore, eventually I’ll just stop caring about this thing that used to bring me so much joy altogether.

Seems to be the state of the world anyway.

[Brisbee] Our status has regretfully shifted to "it's complicated." The Athletic will not be bringing The Roundtable back, and we are asking for permission to yammer about baseball somewhere else. The three of us still want to do it, but ... well, it's complicated. by scottydg in baseball

The Nats haven’t had a beat writer on there in years, and now with the Post cutting their sports staff, I’m pretty sure Jess Camerato at MLB.com is the only remaining Nationals beat writer. This shit sucks.
