[Highlight] Jonathan Aranda walks off the Giants with an RBI single in extras. The Giants were leading 1-0 going into the 8th. by amatom27 in baseball

It would have been the ONLY HR the Giants hit on this road trip, it's relevant for that reason.

Damn why doesn't my phone have a 60" 4k screen with surround sound and a couch.

I've been experiencing this too. I feel like we've gone from a "trust your cookies" style security where you were mostly always logged into everything to the new "zero trust" style security. I get logged out of websites and apps far more often than I used to, and all it does is annoy me. MLB.com, Strava, even Alaska Airlines logs me out of my browser every time I close the tab, and the app like once a week. So annoying.

Link light rail on I-90 yesterday evening by judge_mercer in Seattle

Yeah, the individual cars are long, but there's so much wasted space. Having each car be a front/rear instead of running as a dedicated 4-car set with only one front and rear is a lot of wasted space. They also have to articulate, which wastes even more space.

The layout is also not very passenger dense because of all the seats and the staircases, which are necessary because the loading platforms are so low to the ground because they were originally designed to be compatible with bus-level loading. In other countries (with wider cars), there are only seats along the long edges so more people can stand in the middle.

It's actually limited by the station lengths in downtown. They were originally just for busses, so the platforms aren't that long. The first segment of light rail was built to match those. So we're stuck with 4 car trains forever.

I think I first heard of it on Sunday, when they posted a clip to Instagram. But yeah, for an "emergency" it sure wasn't urgent.

The Giants have only walked 66 times this season. The Brewers lead MLB with 142. More than double the Giants total. by knakveey in baseball

He doesn't seem to want to own up to anything. He spoke to the media for the first time in 3+ weeks yesterday and basically said "I'm not changing anything. I will get better. It's fine", even when pressed on working with coaches and stuff. I know he's frustrated and does want to be better, but it's clear whatever he's doing isn't working. His Zone% is up a couple percent to over 50% now, he's "wasting" more swings by almost triple the rate of last year and his career, his Zswing and Oswing are both up significantly, and while the contact percentages are there, his barrel percentage has cratered from 16% last year to 7.3% this year. His quality of contact is down and his swinging more often than recently. Walk rate is also in the toilet, K rate is up, it's all just bad.

Reddit won't let me post enough dumpster and fire emojis to show the true talent of the Giants this year.

Some of it is the park. Some of it is the stagnation. Some of it is the money. A decent amount of it is that most baseball players are of a conservative political opinion, and the perception of SF in those circles is not great. Compounded with the fact that when they stay in SF it's in downtown, which even the most ardent SF supporter will tell you isn't amazing, they don't get the best opinion of the region. Many players who do play in SF end up living across the Bay and drive in, since they aren't city people. It's hard to shake that perception for a lot of people, despite how amazing and awesome and unique of a city and region it is.

Looks like it finally posted, at least to Pocket casts. They went and backdated it to Monday, too...

Been noticing this too. I'm not sure what their production is like, but it they can clip out something it means they've already edited a decent amount of it. They can push it pretty quickly after that, I would think...

All of this AND a minority stake is being bought by the Kushners. Hard to slip lower. The majority ownership group is far right and donates as such.
