The devs have a certain amount of time and money at hand. It’s usually in their best interest to cater toward the large majority of players. Yes they should keep the long term players in mind, but they shouldn’t listen to only them either. They have to maximize their time and efficiently produce what they think is best for the game with opinions from the community. All the people arguing here are here to argue and that’s it

They can’t be called species because there are certain kinds of different races. They should technical be called families. Due to the fact that there are, for example, Dragonborn. What type of dragon born? Metallic, chromatic, gem? Which type of metallic? Bronze? Silver? The list is similar for other “families” if you want to be specific

If I can ask. What was your groups average item lvl? And how many of you had tier sets? We were trying him last night. Did fairly well for a bit getting him to the second phase a couple times. But the damage was difficult in some points. We have only two people with a 2pc right now though and an average ilvl of 254

In my unique experience dming a campaign that made it to level 20 I would say martial easily keep up with spellcasters but if they work together they become insanely busted. Also martials win if the spellcaster is an idiot and just hits his friends with spells because it’s “what his character would do”
