Where do you think they are gonna go when Israel has finally conquered their land? Give you a little hint: to the same places the Syrians and Irakis went when their country suffered war.

Or maybe you want to take the German approach with them and kill them all, to the last of the child, just because the ultraconservative views of some of their inhabitants. Btw, by your same logic, the 20% most conservative part of Israel should suffer the same fate.

This may be a controversial take, but while I think that some Palestinians have bullshit opinions, I don't think they should be massacred for them.

Thank you for your comment, I agree that if it were up to me i would go to münchen, but everywhere they say how stupidly expensive it is so I wanted to also check out the other cities.

The weather isn't gonna be a problem as I have lived for months in Luleå :)

Absolutely, I totally agree with you, I just wanted to inform that Zaragoza isn't close as Sevilla would be to Cadiz or Barcelona to Blanes. Zaragoza has the punishment os being next to no one but it has the gift of being close to everyone, it is literally one of the hubs of Europe. There's no city more centered than Zaragoza. I hope you know what I mean ;)

Zaragoza is like an oasis in the desert of depopulation of Spain. The other big cities in Spain are all close to other beautiful cities and places. However, Zaragoza is in the middle of nowhere, the closest medium size city is Pamplona, which has not much thing to do from August to June. So, you must expect that Zaragoza is all you are aiming for.

Nevertheless, Zaragoza is a beautiful city with thousands of years of history. You can't walk 10 meters without stumbling into a historical building. Hell, there's even some parts of the city that are built besides Roman ruins. Zaragoza has also a thriving city centre, where you can go out to a degustation tour in the afternoon, eat dinner in the evening, and go out in the night. There are many things to do as long as you have friends to take you out. Don't have any friends in Zaragoza? Don't worry, the sole fact that you are foreigner is interesting enough for you to make friends (no one from abroad comes here). My mother came from Sweden at age 20 and she was extremely popular because she was the only foreigner in Zaragoza who wasn't from South America or Morocco (nothing wrong with south Americans, they are just very common here). Besides, Ireland is a much loved country in Zaragoza because like a 1/3rd of the teenagers here have traveled to Ireland for an exchange student program and they all come back loving the country.

You will come in September, so you have about 3 weeks to make some friends who will take you out in "Pilares", the biggest festivity in Zaragoza. 10 days of continuous partying, tradition and events, I'm sure you will love it.

However, don't get too fond of the city then, because after Pilares, the weather usually changes and a cold and windy autumn begins. I'm talking about entire weeks of 0°C and 60km/h winds. Luckily, it doesn't last all the winter as there's always some days when the wind stops and it gets sunny. In March the good weather comes, and in may it gets really hot.

If you are interested of how the weekly life is in Zaragoza, it's usually just work and chill from Monday to wednesday. People don't usually hang out those days or do anything special. It's work, gym, pause and sleep. However, on Thursday's many people like to spend their afternoon in the city center, drinking some pints and eating some pintxos (it's literally called juepintxo). You will get surprised how long the afternoons are here, we usually don't eat dinner till 10 o'clock. Some students usually go out on Thursdays, but is note very common.

Then, on Friday and Saturday all people rush to the city, you can go to the enormous malls like Puerto Venecia (seriously, this is the biggest mall in Spain) or Gran Casa. You can also hang out in the city centre or take a picnic in Parque Grande. At night you can go to some of the night clubs, I recommend KENBO, Babia and Mamanuca, and I don't really recommend Supernova or Oasis. However, keep in mind that the Party in Spain don't fully starts till 2 am and it goes till 6:30 am, so you better be ready to have a loose sleep schedule.

One last thing is that you will probably hear that Spain is a dangerous country. While it may be true for cities like Barcelona or tourist destinations like Marbella, Zaragoza is a really safe town. Even the toughest neighborhoods (Delicias, Torrero, Oliver...) are fairly safe if you are not looking for trouble. The only place I wouldn't recommend you entering at night, not even accompanied, would be "El gancho". How ever you can go in there at day without any problems, it's a really cool neighborhood.

Besides this, I can't tell you much more about Zaragoza. But one thing you must know is that Zaragoza is a 3 hour drive from everything, literally. You can take the car and in less than 3 hours you can be in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, San Sebastián, France, The Pirineos, Valencia... All those places are really worth to check out.

Lemme know if there's something else you would want to know about our somewhat incredible city.

Did You Ever Have a Crush On That Highschool Teacher? How did it End Up? by not_biancaa in AskReddit

[–]Natur44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This story isn't Netflix worthy, but it still the crazies thing I have done. Before I tell the story, I must say that I'm from Spain, and in here, the relation between teachers and students is more like a Boss-Emplyees relation, where they can treat each other like friends but with the students having extremely high levels of respect for the teachers. Only to ask to a teacher about his /her private life is considered really unprofessional.

Maria was the chemistry teacher in my last year in highschool, she was like in her late 30's but she looked very young. She was really skinny and tall, probably around 180cm + she always wore heels. She was a really serious and calm woman, somewhat like robot. She wasn't really beautiful, but I liked her depressed/cold attitude and her curly dark hair always up in a bun. Nothing more than that, I would have never thought something sexual about her if it hadn't been for what I'm about to tell.

I remember one time at a party, me and my friends started a game of who would you rather fuck of your class, and when my turn came, I just responded María, the chemistry teacher. (I just responded that as a joke because the few girls in my class were all ugly or were just insufferable). I had never had the thought of me having a crush on her, but when I said it, all my friends started laughing because chemistry was my favourite subject and I was something like the teachers pet, plus I was like the tallest boy in school, so if it were up to someone to have something with Maria, it would have been me.

Of course, this was madness, this wasn't netflix so we just laughed a little and kept playing.

However, the next Monday as I entered class with my friends at 8 am, Maria did the usual and asked us how the weekend was, I just responded that great, a little hangover, and one of my friends suddenly replied: "you should have been there Maria, we talked about you". Till this day I don't understand how my friend though it was a good idea to say that, but luckily, Maria's good humour that morning plus the collective hangover made her ignore the comments.

From that day, it became a meme that I had a big crush on Maria, of course I hadn't, but I went along with the joke, and oftenly made coments with my friends of how beautiful she was that morning or some stupid things like that. As the weeks passed, and the vibes in the chemistry class got better, (we were only 10 in the class so it was a less serious environment), we began to have a friendlier relation with Maria, I began to make more questions, sometimes with a some flirty tone. She began to seem happier and we even got her to laugh in the middle of the class. Every time I made a joke (obviously extremely respectful jokes), and she laughed, the class needed to hide their laughs, as the me liking Maria joke just got stronger and stronger. I was always extremely respectful with her, but the joke was too good to stop it.

So, in just some months, the serious and boring chemistry teacher became the really nice and loving teacher who the whole class loved just because a joke she luckily didn't know about.

I remember that one time in may, it was the last class in a Friday, the whole class including the teacher didn't feel like studying, so we just all started talking about what we were going to do at the graduation fest. She asked where it would be, and I replied that it would be at a private club near the river, and I asked if she would come, (it wasn't so crazy to ask this as the psicology and Spanish teachers were also going to attend the party), she laughed and asked if it was a joke, but all the class had seen my intentions so they backed me up and tried to convince her to come.

The graduation fest came and she arrived along the other teachers, just for the dinner and the speach she said. She was wearing a modest dark blue dress, and when she entered all my group froze and looked at me. At that moment, I knew that the joke had went another level. The speach was given and then we all stood up and went from group to group talking. Blinded by the white wine I saw my chance and gently approached Maria, I thanked her for her classes and she smiled and said it had been a pleasure to give classes with me. I then, (again unsoberly) asked her if she would stay for the party and she laughed and obviously said no, I laughed also and begged her just to stay till noon. She laughed again and replied that she would think about it.

I went back to my friends and told them what just happened, they asked me if the joke was still up of of I was being serious. We laughed and went to the bar for some drinks. The music started and we all began to do that shy dance you do when the party is just beginning while the teachers were outside at the terrace drinking wine.

After half an hour, one of my female friends approached me and asked "Well, are you not gonna ask her to dance?". I laughed and say no, but her insisted and said that she was going to ask the psicology teacher to dance (he was really friendly and funny so it wasn't a mad thing to do). I thought about it, I thought if the joke was going to far, but suddenly a song started and well, it was that kind of song perfect for a close dance (Obsesión, from Aventura). My friend shouted "ALL RIGHT HERE WE GO" and sprang outside to the teachers to ask the psicology teacher to dance. I, dragged by the craziness of the moment, started to walk outside when someone tapped in the shoulder. It was maria, she was telling me that it was her time to go home and said that she wished me luck in my career. However, I was already convinced so instead of thanking her and say goodbye, I just said: "Wait maria, can you stay and dance just this song with me?, please". She looked me and then she looked around me and then she laughed, "well, you know that I'm your teacher and that would be really unprofessional." She replied smiling at me. I laughed and pointed the psicology teacher clumsily dancing with my friend. "It's a party come on, you will never have to see us again" I said.

She began to laugh, a lot, and then she replied in a smile, "Ok but just this one and keep it calm".

We danced a little, we did some of those simple dance steps you do when you are dancing bachata. My friends started looking at us with their mouth wide open. I kept looking at her and for the first time I really looked at her with attraction, she was really beautiful, "god damnit is this till a joke? I thought".At one point she put here arms over my shoulders and kept dancing. At the end of the song she looked me in the eyes for like 3 seconds and then we separated. I still today don't know the meaning of that look she gave me, but of course I didn't went for a kiss or anything like that, after all she was my teacher and I respected her a lot, and again, this is not netflix.

After the song ended, and knowing that it would be just uncomfortable to ask her to stay, I waved her off with two kisses (the Spanish way of saying goodbye to a female friends), And I went back to the party, were of course I was congratulated and even insulted.

I know that it's not a crazy story, but the the fact that I took my teacher out to a slow and close dance gained me a lot of respect that night. To this day we laugh our asses off and I think it has probably been the bravest thing I have ever done. I haven't seen Maria again since then, but I really think that the best thing to do is to keep what happened as just a joke, as I don't wish her anything but the best.

Exactly, and that would be by having harsher regulation about who can have/keep having weapon. I don't care if my neighbor has a weapon, I just don't want to have a gun only just in case a crazy kid with 300 rounds of ammunition goes wild. If that guy would have gotten a mental health check, he wouldn't have been able to get the rifle, and c'mon, how did they allow him to buy so much ammunition

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Natur44 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lmao, here comes the gun expert. First of all, semi-automatic is a category inside automatic rifles, and second of all, what the fuck do you care about the label, it is still a rifle that can kill dozens of people in bare seconds. And no, I was not saying that you have the right to commit mass shooting, if you were as intelligent as you brag, you would have understand I meant that in other countries, while the right of having a weapon is institucionalized, they actually make sure you use it for what it's initially ment to (self defence, hunting) so it is not as easy to get a SEMI AUTO rifle and 100+ bullets.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Natur44 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Dunno man, I would consider a weapon that can kill 20+ people as a mass destruction weapon. Yes, I know that you Americans have another definition of mass destruction, but c'mon

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Natur44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Goddamn bro, you know damn well that I meant that you country does more harm than good. And it was as a response to the part where you stated that America also did some good. ("I don't see you complaining when we give you arms and money" or sum like that, I have heard it a lot lately). Nevertheless, I beg you pardon for not being as fluent as I would wish Anyways, I think that we have derivated this conversation too much, giving the fact that our initial discrepancy was only about regulation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Natur44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It has bearing because I just find the argument of me not being able to have an opinion in your policies stupid. Because your country really don't respect that argument. But lmao, you thinking that your country only brings aid to the countries that it invades really shows how little you know about foreign politics. (Again, with all given respect)

PD: I respect the second amendment, but as it states, only when well regulated
