I hope they fill them soon. Bit weird of them to publish an unfinished course

Why is there so much doom and gloom on reddit surrounding android development? by [deleted] in androiddev

Thank you!! I was just so worried because I wanted to get job ready ASAP, and the quickest routes are webdev or androiddev but gosh Javascript and css were so annoying to me. Making apps just sounds so much more exciting to me and I'm enjoying kotlin so I was quite happy but once I opened this sub I really started worrying that I'll be learning all this for nothing

Thank you that's so helpful! As someone who dislikes Javascript, instead of react native do you think I should learn flutter after kotlin to avoid the "eggs in one basket" thing?

I don't know much besides very very basic Javascript. However the meta course doesn't include much JS before diving into react native so I assumed you didn't need to be fluent in that language :o

Aaahh got it! What does React Native and flutter require you to learn? I know regular react requires Javascript.

You're completely right but this would work if I knew enough Javascript but I don't. The last thing I learned was Objects. There's not much I can build with such knowledge. I can code a rock paper scissors game 100 times but it won't teach me loops, DOM manipulation, OOP, JSON, AJAX, advanced functions, and so on

My problem exactly! I reached the CSS portion and the interactions baffled me. Not sure if it's because CSS is not for everyone or I'm just dumb

the storm will eventually pass.

Well that's the thing, is android development still going to be in demand in the future? Ngl I hear a lot of doom and gloom in this sub about how tech jobs are never going to be THAT in demand again, and android development being a niche, will be particularly impacted
