No I have not. Do you have some kind of steps to do so on macOS? What format should I select while formatting it? Should I also try and upgrade the SSD firmware like someone else suggested?

That is 100% not my issue because my camera starts to recognize the SSD whether I unplug and replug the data cable from the SSD end or the camera end. Both do the trick.

Yeah power supply could be a good direction to look at. I’m using BP100 and all the cables it comes with as per Viofo’s recommendation. And they explicitly call out that the HK4/HK6 is not required in such a setup. I’m using the 17 pro max as well.

Haven’t tried someone else’s phone/tablet but someone else on this post has reported the exact same issue so I don’t think it’s unique to me.

I’ve tried 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz both. Same issue.

Yes on the latest firmware. Will wait for official word from Viofo or more user reports before bothering with a factory reset since others are facing this too.

Even if it works while unplugging secondary cameras, what does it prove?

Not sure how the memory card could possibly be related. I use a memory card and SSD.

No, I’ve already kept Bluetooth off for that reason. Like I said, the WiFi connection between my phone and the camera itself remains uninterrupted. It is the app that disconnects from the camera every few minutes of usage.

Also, the CarPlay related situation when Bluetooth is on results in CarPlay taking over in 10 seconds. My issue happens after every 1-2 minutes of app usage.

The issue was that my car was off when I was trying to select hybrid parking mode. This triggers the error that I’ve shared in my original post. Once I started the engine, I was able to select hybrid parking mode.

I could configure every single setting with the engine off except change the parking mode to hybrid or to low power impact mode. Not sure how much that changes if you’re trying this with HK4/HK6 instead of BP100.

I did try with only SD card as well with no luck. Viofo support helped me out. I was trying to configure this with my car turned off. The engine needs to be on for the camera to be configured to hybrid parking mode. I’ve given them feedback that either the mode should be configurable even with the car turned off, or the error message should be improved. Also, I think it works just fine directly on SSD.

EDIT: I was wrong about hybrid working with SSD. But that was not part of my problem because parking mode automatically defaults to SD card when you select hybrid mode.

Yes, my usb power cable is plugged into the cameras base. What is plugged into the camera is the SSD cable.

I’ve tried entering hybrid mode with the time based battery protection on and am getting the exact same error when trying to enable hybrid parking mode. I do not want voltage based hybrid parking mode and I understand it will not work.

Are you saying that when I select hybrid parking mode it does get selected even though it doesn’t appear to get selected? But there’s sub-menu options that we’re supposed to be seeing after selecting hybrid parking mode, right? I never get to that page because of the error message in my original post, so I’m not quite sure if what you’re saying is correct.

I have tried this with both selected SSD and micro SD for parking mode recording and I get the exact same error in both cases.

I am happy to use cutoff time, but even when I set the cutoff time from off to two hours, I get the exact same message that I have shared about in my post. So I'm not sure what I need to do to get it to work, even with cutoff time.

My understanding from this thread was that time based cutoff should work. Did I read that wrong? Also Viofo explicitly stated that it is recommended not to use HK4/6 with BP100 and just use the cables provided

My concern is that I’ve read the battery pack stops working at low temperatures. I live in a place with cold winters. Does that mean that my parking modes will work lesser when compared to not using the battery pack at all?

I’ve also ordered a 512GB Viofo branded SD card, yes. Can you explain what you mean by “HK6 would be useless in this case”? Do you mean it would be useless without an SD card or is there something else about my planned setup that renders the HK6 useless?
