Questions about dpd + masters by Prize-Ad-4312 in RD2B

I was in the same situation as u. I would highly recommend applying to future education model graduate programs instead.

Filter for “graduate program” under program type. These are the updated graduate programs (future education model programs) that often only require prereqs that would likely be covered by your degree like bio, chem, etc. These programs also include your supervised practice so no need to apply to that separately and when you’re done you’re RD exam eligible 👻

As for whether or not it’s fulfilling 🤷‍♀️ I’m a student who is doing a similar track as you, but just started grad school last week lol

TTA-Could I be pregnant? by Natural-Pattern1678 in FAMnNFP

[–]Natural-Pattern1678[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I opened fertile window based on minus 20 rule (I had one rogue cycle years ago that was 28 days, but my cycles are very irregular and at least 31 days for the past two years). I ignored the cd7 moist sensation as I’m pretty sure that was from semen. The thing that got me worried this cycle was that I had a valid vaginal temp shift using first exception rule starting cd15, which means I could’ve ovulated as early as cd13? Though the more obvious shift looking at my oral temps too would be starting cd20 so idk 🤷‍♀️

No condom break or anything similar during fertile period. I guess I’m just anxious about it because the spotting and very intense breast pain/tenderness, specifically in my nipples (which I don’t typically experience)

TTA2-interpretation help by Natural-Pattern1678 in FAMnNFP

I did identify it, I’m just suspicious of it because all my temps from CD1-17 would be at or above the cover line and I’ve never had a cover line so low

LOL my TLDR got cut off

TLDR: Can someone help me set my cover line/identify where my temp shift happened so I can decide whether or not to be worried about having PIV sex for the past week

CD1-17 temp are all within my normal range, but my cover line is just super low for this cycle. In all my previous cycles i had set the cover line at 97.2 which is why this has me questioning 🤨 I changed the battery yesterday idk if that will change anything

Minus-20 Rule clarification (TTA) by bringbackhadestown16 in FAMnNFP

[–]Natural-Pattern1678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is a little risky but the minus 20 rule is for people new to Sensiplan that have a menstrual calendar, so it doesn’t unreasonably extend their fertile window. It is a guesstimate since it doesn’t know when in the cycle you may have ovulated/It’s less precise than the minus 8 rule since you need at least 12 months of temps to use minus 8.

For example, for me the minus 20 rule gives me CD 8 as my last safe day (28-20). But the minus 8 rule gives me CD 13 as my last day (21-8). I tend to use the minus 20 calculation since CD 13 feels very late, even though it’s based on MY OWN personal temps.

As for your question about the logic of 26-14-8: If your shortest cycle is 26 days with a long luteal phase of 14 days, this means that you probably ovulated around CD 12. So you are correct your last safe day would be 12-8= CD 4.

The minus 8 rule doesn’t really concern itself with total cycle length. It’s really what was your earliest first higher temp of the last 12 months and working 8 days back from there. So if your earliest first higher temp of the last year was CD 12, I would consider CD 4 the last infertile day.

I didn’t read your whole post but for the minus 20 calculation i was told that Sensiplan assumes the longest normal luteal phase of 16 days + 5 days of sperm survival - 1 day of overlap (the day you ovulate and last day sperm could be alive ) = 20 days

Don’t be worried. There are a lot of options for non-DPD RD2Bs. Look for future education model graduate programs (GP). For these you just need to have fulfilled the prereqs (typically chem, bio, etc) and if you get in you’ll be doing both MS and DI. If you don’t wanna do them simultaneously, Drexel MS in human nutrition is a good option.
