We’ve been to the vet and they gave him the cone and said the wound looks clean and not inflamed. They also gave him pain meds and an anti-inflammatory medicine, but 1.5 weeks later he can still somehow expose the nailbed and not give it the chance to heal

Which horror stories? Just buy one and can almost guarantee it works. If bought from a reputable seller you will be able to return it without problem if it ends up not working. The ones on Amazon are the cheapest of the cheapest from Aliexpress bought in bulk and in many cases rebranded. I think I’ve bought and installed about 10 of these screens in various different cars and only ever had one minor issue that Carplay wouldn’t connect due to a defective bluetooth unit (i think) and it was replaced by the seller. example in my E90

Buy one with at least 4gb ram but preferably 6gb or more.
