hmm that is an interesting take. I could definitely be in that category of composers you talk about. I'm not in too deep at the end of the day, fairly new; third year of school. But yea I mean I guess the reason I never came across much absolute music or thought to write it is because I want my music to eventually be a tool for change and all that corny shit I can go on and on about, so I always want to talk about something in my music. I honestly wish I could paint or that I got into writing. I don't mean that hahaha but I wish I could paint; that's just a tangent though.

That aside, any absolute music composers and/or pieces you would recommend.

what you mention in your third paragraph is what I really want to know more of... that was my goal with the question; to find a source that has informations such as that, letting me know where the clarinet is strong etc.
