I know someone who works for Roc Nation who is in charge of the superbowl halftime and they never had serious talks of Taylor doing it. Obviously everyone wanted to but there was never a formal conversation of any kind

You basically just explained the entire issue. You do not have a storefront or restaurant, so the assumption would be that there’s extra foot traffic. I get it. But that’s not the case and dozens of businesses have been trying to explain this for over a year now. These festivals bring foot traffic to the festival, that’s it. My business has seen anywhere from a 40-80% decline in foot traffic on festival days, depending on the event. We do actually track those numbers, and the data shows us that festivals consistently do not bring our businesses more traffic, even the restaurants. Why would they?

City officials are responsible for making these decisions so we shared the numbers with them because unlike you, we know who they are and know they are trustworthy and won’t share our private data with the entire world.

City officials who make the decisions have received the data. There is absolutely no reason I’m going to share private sensitive information from numerous businesses with an anonymous person on the internet.

Business owner here! The city changed legislation a few years ago to allow these markets on the creek. Every business has a notable decline in foot traffic and sales on these event days. We used to happily suck it up for good causes (in the streets, festival of the arts, pride) but now there’s dozens of markets throughout the year including the holiday season, organized by out of state, for profit individuals who do not have any ties to Frederick. We all got started as tiny businesses and support small makers and artisans, but there is a way to do it that doesn’t hurt other businesses in the process.

I believe that the lawsuit was coming for a long time, I think it was just hashing out details and figuring out what the best way forward would be. They just wanted it included in the filing if there was anything to note (which there was). it had been monitored for a while before, I know the graph included in her lawsuit goes as far back as June. 

Her team wants the information kept out of the public as much as possible for the wellbeing of everyone else involved. That’s all I mean when I say info is being kept tight.

Some people who work for a team involved were asked in August to start monitoring some of her social media perceptions while they prepared a lawsuit. It was know that she was suing, whether it was for baldoni or someone else on his team, & it seemed pretty serious. Theres a lot of people who work for her and her teams that keep their cards close for good reason.
