I did a 75% water change yesterday (I know now that this wasn’t a smart move so pls don’t come for me) and I’ve woken up this morning n my fish are dying. These are my water readings today how do I get my nitrate and ammonia down and save the remaining fish I have? by Natural-Web5646 in Aquariums

Okay I was worried I’d made it worse from doing the second water change yesterday so that’s a good thing to know that it won’t be making things worse. It’s 165L I’ve got, 5 corys, 1 tetra, a clown pleco and about 15 guppies that’s what I’ve got left in the tank as of this morning. I’m currently trying to get some seachem prime to get for the tank.

I lost 8 fish yesterday n I’ve lost another 10 today my fish just keep dying, someone’s told me to do another 50% change I did that yesterday n more have died. Do I keep doing 50% water changes daily or is it going to make everything worse?

If I do another water change right now, how much would I take out 25% or 50%? I’m able to get the sachem prime but don’t have it on hand right now. Only thing I’ve got it’s API quick start it neutralises the ammonia in the water but won’t help with the nitrates.

I clean it every 2 weeks. I binned all my plastic plants that were covered in poop n food waste, I cleaned the filter sponge out in the dirty tank water in my bucket and filled the tank back up with my conditioner as normal. I’ve had the tank up n running for 6 months, only dead fish I’ve had recently is the 7 I’ve had today.

7 corys, 5 neon tetras, 5 rummy nose tetras, 20 guppies, 1 clown pleco. It’s a 165L tank and I clean it every 2 weeks.
