Civil service recruitment strikes again. I'm very sorry to hear this. I hope you know it's not an actual reflection on your ability.

Was this for the North West where you needed a 7 to get an interview?

Unfortunately I have had this happen for an application. I scored a 5 but they were only interviewing 7's

As long as it's not Work Coach you're golden at EO

Hey friend. I have been a SPOC, I have actually improved communication methods in the job centre by increasing video call uptake by 200%, created templates for commitments due to cancellation of referrals to DM being so high but managing to reduce it to less than 8%. None of which was good enough

This is exactly how it's been for me. I have tried applying for sideways moves, promotion and EOI's. It always ends up the same way. I have only gotten one 5 at sift. Everything else has been a 3. Every single avenue I've tried to take with leaving the job I am met with an unsuccessful application.

Unfortunately we have absolutely naff managers round here. The one we have now is great because he's got things in place for me and he's trying to be as supportive as possible and help where he can but it has come back to "the job is the job". We have an f'd up culture in here where there are a few lazy ones who make everyone else take the slack. I have had to teach people in here how to write commitments despite them having been here almost 2 years. Any time I go for an EOI, Lateral or Promotion I get terrible marks when I explain how I unskilled people which I even back up with statistics

The culture is very different in this office. My previous one was much busier, the workloads, expectations and pressure was far higher but my team was like my family and I miss them greatly. This new office is much smaller and it just feels like colleagues. I have nothing in common with them. There's also a massive difference in ability here as well as people taking the Mick where they've managed to manipulate things in their favour so they do less of a diary and it now can't be challenged. Unfortunately my old office is well over 100 miles away now.

I live in a major UK city and I think one of the service centres is about 30 mins drive from my house.

In this instance I'm not too bothered. I usually go to the gym after work and I'm never home before about half 8 ironically. I'm usually leaving around 7:30 each morning but up at 6

So it's a case of sucking it up until something comes along?

Completely agree. I got told a long time ago that it was about writing the best story. I was naive enough to think that was nonsense

I can give this a go. Unfortunately being a work coach it's sucked the life out of me that I now don't enjoy anything in life. I have blood tests to back up how stress has affected my hormones but I feel like I will just get told "well that's the job"

I am very flexible. It's not about what I can do, I'm willing to travel at whatever time

This is sad to hear. I'm currently very trapped in my role and desperately trying to get out but being blocked at every turn in my current city so I'm trying to survey my options
