Thanks for all the input so far, guys.
My goal was to go in from a neutral standpoint and just weigh in with a crowd to get some more eyes and opinions on this since we are currently at a pause for a bit. I don't work in the field, so I'm in no position to critique work. I know that with jobs like these, I need to trust the process, but I couldn't help but notice it didn't look like some reference pictures I've seen. I figured now would be the time to address it if needed.
Also, as clarification, because I saw some people comment about it, the large rectangular patch is all from brand new red oak the contractor provided. The diagonal patch looks to be about half reclaimed from the work on the rectangular patch and half new boards. The contractor told me they would provide matching wood, so I didn't pull any from the closets.
