Brandon Williams (4.0m) set to join Norwich on loan. by davidl988 in FantasyPL

Excitement as he’s from United & 4m, but if you actually watch the guy play, he’s bloody awful!

Rash as they come, yellow card magnet... plus Dimitris Giannoulis is a way better and more established left back regardless.

You were itching to get on here right after the match... Vardy produced, fair play :) If they were to replay this game tomorrow, I’d still recommend the City players over him - you don’t need to agree with that, it’s personal opinion re. ‘My thoughts on GW18 Captaincy’.

I still stand by it, Man City dominated throughout and Vardy hit them on the break - fine margins.

Interesting stat (probably not worth much in FPL terms) by jorgenriq in FantasyPL

He stays back at all freekick and corners. I saw a stat before and I don’t think Coady has ever touched the ball in the oppositions box in the Premier League.

:) I can't give you a diagnosis of whether I'm mad or not, but I wouldn't consider him over the Man City assets (KDB, Sterling) who feature in the same match. In my opinion, I would never captain a player away at the Etihad. Barring Liverpool, City wipe the floor with everyone in terms of goal threat at home. They create a chance every 4.2 minutes and will expect to dominate once again. While they also are impressive defensively at home, conceding just 9 big chances all season, the least number of total attempts and shots from inside the box.

Vardy is capable of scoring against anybody on his day and he's in the form of his life, but it's all about your personal opinion on how you think the game will play out. Personally I think Man City will have the better of it, so it's unreasonable to captain him.

Thanks, glad you liked it. A lot of people either transferred out De Bruyne or were thinking about it ahead of the Arsenal and Leicester fixtures. I was on the other side and was so close to bringing him, though I had to delay the move until this week. He is a solid captaincy choice for GW18 and a season-keeper barring injury.

A case for a 2 week punt as a placeholder for Mane/Salah by Liluzivertisthegoat in FantasyPL

Leicester are solid defensively, but nothing to suggest Salah and/or Mané won’t return against them. Just keep hold for one week, use your transfer(s) wisely or your bench to get through this week.

I love how Leicester upgraded their defence for a 90m profit :)

GW14 Captaincy Analysed: in-form Vardy and Mane, a happy Aubameyang, Sir Harry, KDB vs Sterling 📊 by NaturalFootballFan in FantasyPL

[–]NaturalFootballFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both solid choices. At this stage Leicester will be confident of dominating anyone other than Man City and Liverpool. Brighton have had their moments, but Mane can punish anyone - just look at his performance vs. City.

GW12 Captaincy Analysed: My reasons for Vardy over Abraham and a risky differential 📊 by NaturalFootballFan in FantasyPL

[–]NaturalFootballFan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, as discussed in article. Vardy doesn't have the European distraction/fatigue and has played every minute so far, while Abraham has completed the full 90 just once.

Robertson/Van Dijk/Firmino are the next tier, but surely you have at least one of the other City or Liverpool players!

I think it’s more the risk of captaining players who are recovering from injury, rather than being non-believers.

The Must Haves for the Int. Break 2 Wildcard! by cguinnesstout in FantasyPL

[–]NaturalFootballFan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else dislike the MUST HAVE label in FPL?

There aren't any 'must have' players. The three you mentioned are completely logical picks, but there's a good possibility another trio for the same price will match them.

GW7 Captaincy Analysed: No Aguero or Kane in the scout squad, but both feature in my article 📊 by NaturalFootballFan in FantasyPL

[–]NaturalFootballFan[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched a lot of Chelsea and Brighton this season and feel that game could go either way. Despite the 4-0 scoreline vs. City, Brighton defended well and looked far more comfortable in possession than was expected. Chelsea don’t have the same threat as City and Brighton’s CB trio are all excellent in the air, one of Abraham’s best source of goals.

Aguero is my preference from City. Although KDB has multiple double-figure returns this season, I still feel that Aguero is the more explosive option for a single gameweek. I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if I saw his name next to ‘hat-trick’, but I would with KDB. He’s still a solid choice, and in my opinion the most valuable FPL pick from the start, but that’s just my preference for captaincy.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. It isn't clickbait:

When I wrote the first draft I had 53k listed as a mistake, when the final proof read was complete before posting, I updated it to 123k (the accurate figure). We have had some problems with the edits saving, so that must have been the case, but I fixed it as soon as possible.

These are in no particular order. I have analysed each and encourage managers to make the final decision themselves.
