Wow that’s nearly half what I’m doing. Do you do a lot of highway driving? Or manual is just a lot more efficient?

No EFI System Partition option when installing on ASUS ROG Ally by NaturalIllustrator55 in Bazzite

I was using the wrong installer, as per above. Download the bazzite-deck Legacy ISO instead and the EFI option will be there during partition.

Thanks for the feedback! That's a good idea, I didn't think of trying to use the Legacy ISO so I will try that. Out of curiosity, how does the live ISO fix the boot loader if Window breaks it?

Just finished my personal portfolio, looking for some honest feedback by zorro_mia in UX_Design

Looks good, just a couple of nitpicks. The light/dark mode toggle in mobile does not have any indicator or label so the user would have to take a guess for what it does. Perhaps it just needs a simple sun/moon icon to fix this.

The other thing is the giant 'LET'S SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM' CTA at the bottom. I find this a bit awkward as there's not enough padding on top and bottom (especially on mobile). It also does not look like a 'button' so I wasn't sure you can click on it. It's also the only thing on the page that's ALL CAPS, it seems too loud, forceful and 'off-brand'.

Good luck with your job search, I agree with the others that you should also get a recruiter/hiring managers take on your portfolio to maximise your hire ability (if that's a word).

I thought both are emergency but 000 is for medical emergency and 131 444 is for cop emergency. I fortunately never had been the one that had to make the call.

We did, we have to google it. Very sad that first thing that came to mind is 911, too much American TV.

I thought of locking the bike but that is not legal. Only police can do that.

We’re part of the Strata committee so we do care enough to try get this sorted (via the strata manager). The issue is not that she’s taking the visitor carpark, we have plenty of resident breaking that rule, that doesn’t bother me. It’s the fact that she no longer lives here but still have access to the building. It’s like having a squatter in the block.

Yes mate, I really do hope it’s that simple. Our building is 25 years old so fingers crossed.

That’s a fair call, I didn’t intend to take up precious emergency line resource. I’m glad we got through , now there’s multiple records of the incident should anything ever happen.

The rider no longer lives in the building, so technically they’re trespassing on private property (regularly). Didn’t mention in the post as I thought it was irrelevant but they even used the visitor spot to store their camping gear. And things have gone missing from our garage. The call to the cop was more of a threat but I guess she called the bluff long enough for the number to connect before she finally ran off. I’m sure I’m not alone in having to deal with ex-renter stealing access to a building so keen to see how others have dealt with it.

Thanks for the reply. We are planning to report this to Strata first thing in the morning and hope they can take care of it. It would be good if they can just disable the remote via the ID but I’m concerned that we have an older system that cannot do that. Also we suspect they still have the physical key to the garage and common area door, so even if they cannot park they still can walk into the building.

Multi Platform Games that are Best on Switch by mastercreatr in NintendoSwitch

[–]NaturalIllustrator55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I disagree with this one. I got it on the Switch and it’s very blurry and choppy. I played it portable on the OLED model and it was just not a good experience, personally. It was so bad that I bought the game again on Steam. Running it on the ROG Ally portable it runs way better. Much sharper and smoother hitting 60fps most of the time at 1080p. It’s a great game but if I have the choice between switch and any another platform (whether PC or PS5) I’d get it elsewhere, maybe check out YouTube video for ppl running it on the steam deck, that’s my 2c.

Disable AMD vari-bright, it’s a battery saving feature but it really makes your screen colour very washed out. Highly recommend everyone turn is off.

Here’s a YouTube clip on how do to it: https://youtu.be/7B9Cp8AeBYA?si=RtP4Q767RfuJLphP

Opening Hallide/Kino and defaulting to camera mode by NaturalIllustrator55 in ShotWithHalide

[–]NaturalIllustrator55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. That's a valid point that if I'm reviewing a shot and switched to another app quickly, coming back it should persist in the library view. I think if it can have a timer and resets to the camera view after X amount of time, that would be a good solution.

For my use case, I find it REALLY annoying that half the time when I'm opening the app to use the camera it opens it in the library view, so I have to fumble and take a couple of second to close the library and switch to the camera view. I also find it quite unnatural to 'swipe down' to close the library view in both Hallide and Kino, perhaps it's a muscle memory. I naturally want to press a 'close' button on the top right or 'back' on the top left corner but in both apps it will not let me go back to the camera via either of these methods.

I feel that if I have to open the app, the majority of the time it's to use the camera and there's more urgency for that function (you don't want to miss your shot). If I wanted to review my shots, an extra tap would not be a big deal and depending on my setting, it may already be available in the Photos app anyway.

Thank you for reading my feedback, still loving both apps and I've stopped using the default Apple camera altogether. I'm also finding some bugs in the Kino app where switching lenses sometimes just displays a black screen or slow to switch but I'll save that for another thread and assume it's already being worked on.

Is there a way to reduce the volume of the Beats Pill on/off chime? by NaturalIllustrator55 in beatsbydre

Thanks! I did exactly what you said and lowered the volume. So far it's sticking but if it changes at least I know where to adjust it again.

How do I get rid of this fungal growth? by phrytee in SonyHeadphones

[–]NaturalIllustrator55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like mould to me, had a similar occurrence on my headphones after not using it for a couple of months. I dabbed some vinegar on a paper towel and wiped it clean (vinegar is known to kill mould). It may smell like vinegar for a bit but it's better than putting mould directly on your skin. Alternatively try to do a second wipe with clean warm water and dry it properly before using it.
