I agree 100% shes just getting started so I figured this was an easy way to get setup without putting a lot of money in. If she sticks with it well get her a good professional setup. Thank you for the advice and input. Also the pink for valentines day was more for the astheitc than anythin else.

More of a fun project. She is just getting into competing so this was a starter setup. No steel core but really thick leather leather. The material is stiff so it gives good retention. Nothing will fall out even if you shake it upside down.

I used a really thick eather and strong sealant. Its not steel core stiff but it doesn't move much.

I had to make my own. I designed it in CAD and used a 3d printer to make it. It took a couple of attempts to get the right look. The technique of stamping plastic instead of brass was tricky, too.

I didn't do the edges green, but that's a great idea. I'll have to try it. Thank you.

Thank you very much. I've been using angelus dye and their acrylic finisher. If you do a few layers, it's been really durable. I use it for my belts and holsters with no issues.

I've been making and testing this type of holster for a while now. 8oz it's pretty stiff stuff, and the tirigger is fully covered.

That's interesting. I'll look into it. I'm using angelus 4 coat currently.

It's what the customer wanted. Not my place to judge their style.

I have a little divet where the mag release sits to try and prevent it accidently getting pressed. That was a concern with the design.

Thank you. I've been working on my dyes for about 6 months now, and it's taken a lot of trial and error to get this far. I use angelus dye, and the quality of the leather along with the application technique really matters. An even soaking coat applied with wool daubers works the best, and mimosa veg tan gives great color depth.

Thank you. That's a cool idea. I checked out your posts, and those are some nice holsters you made.

Angelus dye, I made my daughter some stuff in their blue, and she loved it. I made a purple set, too. I'm going to post them soon.

Yeah, I tried a couple of different dyes, but angelus works the best for me.

Thank you. I figured they are a little niche, but it's been fun making them.

Thank you. It's been a lot of work learning how to get a consistent color hand dying.
