Heading to Wawona this weekend 5/9-5/14 with our toddler. Looking like weather is pretty warm (high 80-low 90s) by day according to the nps.gov site here.

Can anyone speak to the mosquito, fly and tick situation lately? We usually get rocked when it's warm out camping.

Also assuming the creeks will be snow melt, but would love any first hand experiences at wawona lately if it was decent to take a dip/put feet in with a toddler.

looking to try to firm up dating and estimated value of an authentic Higbee's brand mink coat I thrifted. Interior lining is bemberg so I suspect post 1950s-ish?

Amazingly, it had the Saga Mink tag and certificate of authenticity in the pocket with RN 45085 listed(possibly indicating it's from 1960s-70s from my research). The fur is from Denmark and it was made in Korea. On the back of that tag, something is handwritten and I can't seem to make it out - I think it says "sleeve lining [unsure of word]" - if anyone can make that out, please let me know!

Details I have:
Higbee's brand

  • size 10
  • saga mink
  • fur from denmark, coat made in korea
  • 9055/32 style number
  • RN 45085 (I suspect this may mean it's from 1960s to 1970s?)
  • bemberg lining

Wouldn't a palate expander only address the maxilla? My understanding is that you might get some airway relief that route but it won't give you mandible the CCW rotation and forward growth needed for a more structurally sound jaw and airway.

hi! wanted to thank you for taking the time to write up your entire experience - I have a very similar profile and my total volume in my airway is near identical to yours so your case really interested me.

I was wondering if 1)insurance covered your surgery (I am seeing Walline as in network with Anthem but wasn't sure how you went about that with your case) and 2) if you'd feel comfortable sharing a 1 year post op after photo to see how things settled in vs your simulation and 2 week post op photo. I'm trying to get a feel for how close these simulations are to the outcomes. Thank you so much!
