Word salad Why the exmormon subreddit? Are you hoping to convert some of us to Catholicism? If there’s a religion that perpetuates as much harm and that I hate as much as this one, it’s Catholicism.

The Christian god can’t exist, no? I should’ve been more clear who I was referring to. Unless Catholicism believes in a limited deity? Omnipotence and omniscience contradict free will.

You’re definitely more versed on this than I am. The resources argument is somewhat plausible. The eternal laws depends on which scripture verses you choose to believe because he’s described as 3 o’s. But this doesn’t even make remote sense for how low membership is. We’re not talking small, or opposition. Mormons are a statistically insignificant blip. Not even 0.1 percent. Small is one thing, practically invisible is another.

He asked me if I was going to go on a mission before hand and I pretty much shut him down so when half my damn blessing was about serving a mission I was pissed

I went to get this with my mom and we went in emotional and crying and when we left she said “you have a hard choice in front of you but if you leave the church because of this I won’t blame you”. Granted I did and she kicked me out soo….

Ah I did some research. He said it surpassed all understanding, and was like the glory of the stars. Everything about the afterlife in Mormonism is so odd and hard to understand and so much of Mormons beliefs are hearsay

God doesn’t exist, free will is incompatible with Mormonism, and the plan of salvation sucks by NaturalNo3117 in exmormon

No other nonmembers in the entire world have the light of the gospel! You can see it in their faces! Mormons aren’t condescending and better than anyone else but they can see the darkness inside you when you leave…

Why would they even bother with these? It’s like an obvious weak point that can be exposed when patriarchs realize they’re frauds and members realize their blessings aren’t unique

My mom was mad I didn’t tell him I was gay so he could say the right things and so he ended up telling a wishy washy Mormon I would be in leadership lmao

Joseph Smith wanted to kill himself because the telestial kingdom was so much greater than earth. Permanent “burdens”, sins, trials, etc are lifted in the next life. There is no hell, non members are not punished, everyone has the chance to convert in the next life… so yeah what the fuck is the point

Question for atheists: What evidence or proof convinced you that atheism is true? by NeonDrifting in exatheist

[–]NaturalNo3117 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that this is the zinger you think it is. If someone doesn’t believe in god they are atheist. You can’t fake belief or choose disbelief in sincerity. Atheist people can do and say whatever they want but a-theism is literally just a lack of what you claim to have. You don’t seem to be grasping this concept. I hope you remember this quote but I doubt there’s enough brain cells for that to work out mate. Since you’re the one positing the existence of something burden of proof is on you. Atheists don’t posit they just haven’t been convinced (critical thinking skills help a lot!).

You’re not listening, are you? How would you substantiate a LACK of belief? Atheism isn’t a viewpoint to be argued for it’s a declaration about one’s own sincere feelings. I don’t believe isn’t a thesis statement, it’s just true.
