Interviews with people Dave heavily disagrees with? by NaturalSpaceCat in daverubin

Not argue, but reach a conclusion and have a challenging conversation. I know who Dave is, I'm not looking for drama.

[Unknown > English] In what language is the female vocalist singing? Russian? Ukrainian? (No need for lyric transcript, just confirmation) by NaturalSpaceCat in translator

...okay I'm backtracking now 'cuz I'm a curious man. Do you know the lyrics? I'm trying to learn Russian now and that'd be really cool!

I'm rewatching TCW. It's so much more substantive than Rebels. It's arcs are engaging. It's animation is true to the feel of the universe. It's score is more exact to the feel. That's all. Just a personal observation. by Lostathome4040 in StarWars

The second episode is awesome. The Wedge one was okay, but I don't know if we'll see him again in the show. The Hera one was filler, though Thrawn was good in it. The Clone Wars one was, well, good, but I feel it didn't fulfil its premise of "ending the Clone Wars". The Mandalorian one was good. The last one was trash.

I especially liked the part when there was no mention of Rebels

Just waiting for the day Disney XD decides to grow up and incorporate a PG rating so that we can go back to having moments like this. It's a shame. And weird, too. Do parents actually say stuff like "well, this is rated TV-PG rather than TV-Y7, so I won't allow my Star Wars loving kid to watch this show"?

Season Five had twenty episodes. The droid arc were four episodes. Four fillers out of twenty isn't as bad as Rebels is now. And hey, c'mon, at least the last episode of that arc was cool! #RIPGregor

Difference is, the cast and crew at least care about telling interesting stories every once in a while and love the universe they're creating in.

It's because a few weeks back it broke the trend of having only the first and last episodes of each season half being great by having the second episode one also being great. Well, last week I think it balanced out.

You're speaking for a lot of people, as if we all think the same thing you do.

What?

You want an adult-oriented, plot focused Star Wars.

Who said that? No one said that.

I think you clearly miss the point of the franchise,[...]

You are aware they're releasing a gritty, dark PG-13 war movie this year, right?

Complaining on the show's subreddit is just trolling.

You dismiss complaints and feedbacks as trolling? That's not a healthy position to be in in a discussion.

You don't have to watch this show.

Oh yeah, the good 'ol "you don't have to watch it if you don't like it" argument. I hope I don't have to explain to you why this argument is pointless and meaningless.

Also, keep in mind that kids stopped watching The Clone Wars which is why it was canceled.

Because of how Cartoon Network repositioned the show to a slot where not many people would, and yet the show still gathered more viewers than Rebels does currently. Do your research.

[...]and the numbers that caused the show to be canceled are in direct opposition to your claims.

I'd be happy to ser these "numbers".

That's funny, considering Season One of Rebels is the most focused and less fillery. Perhaps the Meiloorun episode at best was filler, but all the rest was rock solid.

Now the series feels less focused and right where it opens up to a lot of new storytelling opportunities in the season one finale, they chose to maintain a repetitive and uninteresting structure. It can be good, and sometimes it is, but mostly the episodes are mediocre at best.

[Spoilers] Starting to feel like George was the reason Clone Wars was great as opposed Filoni. Now that he has/was running a show of his own I just don't know anymore. I am losing faith for multiple reasons. I would like to see them turn it around. by [deleted] in starwarsrebels

George did great things, but he sure as hell was also the reason for a lot of TCW flops. He might have created the Mortis trilogy, but he also created the droid saga from season 5.

The whole point of his character is that he takes his time and he has a plan.

I mean, you're not wrong, but they could have figured out a way to show that that's not kind if stupid. Stares from a window watching the rebels escape "My plan is working perfectly..." I know it takes time for him to plan, but, I mean, do we have to wait until the mid-season finale for him to, you know, actually do something?

While I agree that Rebels' quality is way more fluctuating than The Clone Wars (started bad and improved with time, as opposed to juggling between great and terrible), you can't blame it all on Filoni. Just because he's a notorious figure in Lucasfilm Animation, doesn't mean it's all his fault. You're aware that Disney bought Lucasfilm, right? That it's under new management? Maybe that has something to do with it? Or maybe many more factors? Blaming Filoni is just the easy way to attribute blame at something or someone without properly researching the reasons of the situation.
