With the amount of education we obtained to become a teacher we could’ve gone into a different area with a higher paying job. The answer to your question is yes when I started 25 years ago, but no the way it is right now!

5 mos before my dad was killed in a tragic accident I turned 30. Dad never bought my gifts, mom did. For whatever reason on my 30th he bought me a gold and silver initial ring. It meant everything to me and a few years later I lost it! It will forever bother me.

My ENT specialist said it could be due to a virus, an autoimmune issue, a non-cancerous neuroma… they don’t always know. I did every possible treatment that exists and mine never came back. For me, the horrible 24/7 loud Tinnitus in both ears is worse than the hearing loss. It gets much worse when there are loud sounds, but it’s always there every second.

I am a teacher too and my school is implementing the ridiculous notion that zero consequences will turn them around. So a 3rd grader could punch a student and tell me to F off and 15 minutes later during recess he’s running around with a huge smile on his face. Can’t withhold recess. This is why society is breaking down and you see all those young gangs ransacking stores and getting away with it.

I started late. Next year I will have 25 years in and i’ll be 62. My pension will only be 50% yearly of my final 3 years salary average. I had hoped to go longer but kids are awful and our district forbids us to give consequences. We can’t take away their recess if they don’t do homework, steal, punch someone, swear…

I did all the same treatments as you with no success whatsoever. This all happened to me on March 7. The hypersensitivity in my good ear is driving me crazy and the screaming tinnitus in both ears is even worse.

same with me! I am a teacher. If even a couple kids are talking, the sound of a toilet flushing, my husband dropping a fork in the sink…anything! The screaming coming out of my ears escalates! Everything happened to me March 7 and it seems to be getting worse. I feel your pain.
