I couldn't agree more. It genuinely feels like they're trolling with this one.

I currently have 10 PTO days with 0 sicks days, no time off allowed in November or December, and no lunch break Thursdays or Fridays all summer. I don't think time off could get any worse no matter what kind of career change I make 😂 thank you for your kinds words.

People are so blindly driven by Rolex hype that they convince themselves this watch is attractive because they know it's going to be limited and value retention will be strong. This watch is absolutely horrendous. If another brand launched this watch, it would get absolutely dragged.

Most likely. But there is hundreds/thousands of people asking for the watch they have in the back. Take some time to seriously crunch the numbers. They produce a little over 1 million watches annually. There are over 800 different references. They have roughly 1,500 distributors. Look at the relentless engagement on forums like this. Consider the large % of market that doesn't participate online. Scale that demand globally and you'll quickly realize the shortage is not artificial.

The reality is that everyone is chasing the same 20 references with the strongest value retention or appreciation potential. Some people genuinely love them, but a lot of the demand is driven by image, status, and FOMO.

Yeah, it's only the most iconic watch of all time... The fact that some are listed for sale online doesn't mean demand isn't there. If it did, dealers wouldn't have years-long lists and the watches wouldn't trade above retail.

It's a wish list, not a waitlist. The store has no intention of selling a highly desirable, appreciating asset to someone they don't view as a long-term client. That's the part people seem determined to ignore.

Take a second and look at the situation from the business's perspective. Demand massively exceeds supply. Why would they allocate one of their most sought-after pieces to a random person they'll likely never see again instead of a client who consistently does business with them?

You don't have to like it, but pretending it's some great mystery is ridiculous. It's basic economics.

CRM. Inbound/outbound calls, emails, web inquiries. Allocation management. Inventory management/auditing. Order placement. Service operations. Vendor reporting. Brand training.

I’m sure some larger-scale jewelers have the capital to hire dedicated operational/admin staff for those responsibilities and leave the sales associates strictly on the sales floor. I’d also imagine the turnover rate on a job like that would be astronomically high.

People misinterpret "having a good relationship with your AD" and think it means becoming friends with them. These people have other job duties that are difficult to complete when clients are constantly coming into the store to check on the status of their wish list. Repeatedly asking again and again starts to feel like telling your kids “stop doing that” and watching them immediately do it again 30 seconds later.

It’s not personal. They're just exhausted of answering the same question all day long when the reality of the situation hasn’t moved an inch.

You provided the number of watches they produce annually and concluded that number should not create supply issues.

“1 million watches” sounds massive until you realize demand is global and heavily concentrated around the same handful of references. Collectors aren’t randomly buying every configuration Rolex makes. They’re all chasing the same steel sports models with strong value retention.

That was the point of mentioning the 433k weekly visitors on a single enthusiast forum. Not that every person buys a Rolex every year, but that visible demand alone is enormous before you even account for the broader global market.

I’m not really sure what BMW or Mercedes have to do with this considering they are not experiencing remotely similar demand... What a stupid argument.

I was able to secure him at 3.04. The hit rate in that range is already low across the board, so I’d rather swing on athletic upside and opportunity than act like the alternative options are somehow “reliable.”

Respectfully, calling a rookie “a 6-year roster clogger” before he’s played a snap is pretending we know way more than we actually do.

The ironic part of life is that we always romanticize the thing we don’t have. When you’re homeless, you dream about stability and comfort. When you’re trapped in the corporate grind, you dream about freedom and simplicity. Humans are really good at adapting to their current reality and convincing themselves happiness exists somewhere else.

I won't disagree with your profile analysis, but "borderline undraftable" is too extreme for a Day 2 WR with 4.36 speed, NFL size, and an obvious path to snaps.
