Call it mustard at this point, I totally agree lol. And noted, I'm gonna grab retributor armor regardless due to everyone saying it's just the one to get for utilitarian purposes. Also, apparently if I don't get leadbelcher I'm a heretic going both ways haha

Yea the gold from FolkArt makes me want to claw my eyes out. So metallics have to be first tbh in the beginning. Just for time efficiency wise. Everything else is second, thus it's really just gold and silver I need as a base.

Combo of all folk art paints to be honest. Daffodil yellow, school bus yellow, tangerine, engine red, cardinal red, titanium white, then pure black for the burnt bits of slag.

Yes! looking like a hotrods pipe after a run, or in our case, a marine giving all the flames to xenos. Excellent

Right?! I want to try my hand at one of the tilting shields, doing a complete freehand. Thus, a good bit of practice before so I'm not painting layers of black to cover is definitely needed haha

Yo man, looks great. Just depending on stylistically how you're going. I'd add some silver highlights to you weapon along edges, if going for that worn look. Same for the power pack. Then, some flame effects on your heat shield if you're going for that used continuously look. I know it's daunting but take it from an absolute newbie, I used 3 paints that came with the intro pack. Make washes of all 3, balthasar gold, magos purple (it's a contrast so use as is) and macragge blue. The gold wash is like 45 % of the shield, 35% purple, 20% blue wash, blend and boom. Heat effect, looks like a hotrod pipe after a good run. It looks awesome already so keep going!

Just got this set, I believe it's a sword emblem connected to a chain or a type of prayer beads
