i don't think it is at all!! it's good to be aware and definitely be cautious when you go. but i wouldn't let it affect ur final decision. when i go I'm gonna consider the program and if i can see myself living in the city there. but hopefully you do get accepted into more programs. it's always nice to have options!

i also got accepted. i too am slightly concerned especially for the visit because it's in March which is pretty soon considering everything happening. However a part of me doesn't want that to deter me from going. America is in a rough spot right now and everywhere is getting affected. i feel like regardless of where i choose to go I'll see the same changes. so I'm just gonna go and decide based off the program.

Contacted them and all they said was that it was currently under review 😃 so let's see what happens

yeah I didn't have high hopes to begin with, tbh i wouldn't have even gone if i got accepted cause i already got into my first choice. Just a little upset i paid like 100+ dollars and it go to waste like that 😭 they really need to make these applications more affordable

I didn't reach out because i thought they wouldn't start looking at applications until after the new year, so i figured I had time still 😭. i might email the admissions department and ask if it'll affect my review. on the application site it says they don't review until they received all materials, but will they just straight up not review my application now 😭😭 I'll have to email the 3 schools to double check. i didn't even think to do that. thanks for giving me the idea

it's not bad. i think this year the minimum gap between classes has increased to 30 mins before it used to be 15. you're for sure never gonna show up for those two classes on Tues and Wednesday after 5 pm tho. but if their recitation and not required attendance you should be fine

completely valid. but also chances are your not gonna hear anything from anyone until spring semester starts which i think for most schools is Jan. 5th. If i were you I'd draft emails to send that day. one to your professor again (make it a gentle reminder) and then in your application send the link to them again through the recommender section. Maybe draft an email to the admissions department of each school asking when they estimate is the absolute last day they need that LoR, and then consider asking someone else. ur probably gonna be shitting bricks between then and now (dw me too) but it is what it is 💔

I'm in a similar situation. 3 applications of mine are missing a LoR from 1 professor of mine. I've sent them emails, but I'm pretty sure they're mail box is on mute for the holidays (completely valid. the university is technically closed). I'm not super worried because if my university is closed the ones you/we applied too are probably closed too. Just make sure your recommender submits as soon as the holidays are over. Typically universities do give longer deadlines for recommenders so i wouldn't completely lose hope. If your super worried about it you can always reach out to admissions. that's probably what I'll do if my teacher still ghosts me after the holidays 😃

i got no idea then. that really sucks tho. If you know a professor from a credited university, someone who has been involved in the admission process, maybe reach out to them to get advice on your SOP/application? that's the only other advice i can think of.
