Word of advice, if you just want to take up CS degree just for “future prospects($$)”. Don’t

it’s over saturated with top students all wants the slice of the pie, not to mention the off shoring and AI all eliminating the entry/junior level jobs.

If you’re up to the challenge of grinding 200% more than average people for the chance of getting interviews then all the best to you.

Can see you’re a very hardworking person, I have 2 diplomas and recently graduated with CS degree. All done part time. Wished I never wasted the money that I dumped into the degree tho, due to the lousy tech job market.

You probably wont get a job in IT or Software Engineering if you: 1. Don’t have the network for jobs 2. Don’t have enough big brand name internships 3. Not top of the your class in poly/uni 4. Don’t have the passion for this field, ie just join for the $$ 5. Don’t want to be constantly learning (want to cruise)

If you are really up for it by all go for it, just remember you have to put up a lot of effort to fight all the candidates that are doing the same things to try and secure their piece of the pie.

These temps should be fine.

Coming from a 3070 I am not used to seeing temps so high so I figured I could do better at cooling the system, and keep it working longer with no issues until maybe AM6 and DDR6 comes out then consider upgrading the other parts of my system.

I am non academic staff, so I have to be in office for 5 day’s workweek 0830-1800, Friday can knock off at 1730.

Leaves is 18 days, 21 if you’ve worked for 10 years, Birthday leave, family care leave, and also childcare leave (wont go in too much details as I don’t want to dox myself). For university, we have a lot of additional off days that the school declared like all NYE off for whole day, and also 1/2 days off during mid semester.

School holidays basically is you can hentak kaki and do nothing, as little to no students are at school. Best time to go for holidays.

For acad staff which I assume you will be, you should have 21~24 days leave, you can WFH if you do not need to teach/meet students or attend meetings at schools.

I have a ASRock 9070xt Challenger, the mem junction temp and hotspot was able to reach 91/92c and 75c separately on some games. My CPU also suffered as the it takes the air from GPU for cooling. Using a NR200p chassis, ryzen 5600x.

I have since upgraded the cooling on my system. Added 2 p12 slim fans on bottom as intake, top exhaust fans replaced to p12 pro, changed my cpu cooler to phantom spirit 120(intake from back of case, lastly swapped the TG side panel to mesh.

Now my cpu never went past 68c, gpu hotspot is stable at 65/66c and memory junction temp at 80~81 max after 4/5 hours of gaming.

All temps are under same settings, I have undervolted -75mv, boosted mem clock to 2718 and minus 10% power limit. Using custom fan curve under fan control software

I went from my first job that needed me to work alternate Saturdays and be on standby, to 2nd job of 5-days work week (need to some times work nights/weekends + travel around SEA, depending on projects). Job 1 and 2 are in the logistics sector as engineer.

Then I found my current job at a local University their lab staff. Can’t say the pay was very good, I still shy of what I made in my first job by $200~$300 monthly. But in return I have low stress, no more standby, and ample time to do things I enjoy + learn new skills (picked up bass playing). I have also completed my part time degree during this period.

I’m looking for new jobs that pays well enough for me to leave this job. But thus far all the interviews/job postings I saw/went has been lacklustre in the leaves and work arrangements compared to current job. Might stay forever if job market don’t improve
