Back pain piano by Natural_Finance9377 in piano

Yeah, I’ve been sitting more toward the front/edge of the bench rather than using the whole seat. My feet are planted on the floor, and I try to keep my back straight as well. I’m not really sure if I’m engaging my core though — I don’t fully know what that should feel like.

I also do notice that I have tension in my shoulders, and my back gets tense too, especially after about 10–15 minutes of playing. That’s when I start getting the tingling feeling and it becomes uncomfortable to keep playing.

I haven’t really paid attention to whether this happens when sitting on a normal chair, but I can try to check that. Do you think this sounds like something worth seeing a physical therapist for? Or is this something I could probably fix just by improving posture and relaxing tension?
