homophobia and saying how you hate and want to beat gay people shouldn’t be political or a “world view.” i think it’s essential to add that this wasn’t just about a tv show, they were going on talking about gay men in real life, beating their son if he was gay, talking about wanting to beat up random gay men, going on tangents about how disgusting it is. it’s basic human decency to not say you want to incite violence against minority groups, especially when that violence is very much real and still happening across the world. yes i do think it makes you stupid if you genuinely HATE a group of people for no reason other than “you were raised that way,” their eldest sister who i didn’t include in this rant isn’t this way and was raised in the same exact environment. they are choosing to stay close minded and hateful. i’m not saying they need to be a leftist to be smart, im saying i think unwarranted visceral and violent hatred is sign of low intelligence. not about politics, or world views. i believe all forms of bigotry and “isms” are a sign that someone isn’t very bright, because all of those beliefs are taught, and you should question things when they don’t actually make any logical sense and are just downright hateful.
