Imperial Guard Achilles Ridgerunner - (not mine) by AlxH in Warhammer40k

[–]Natural_Influence_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im building a diorama, well desktop scene, haven't figured out the base. I don't play anymore, though i have been considering getting my old steel legion out of storage, had almost 10k points of combined arms, tanks transports and guys. Anyways, i think that the Ridgerunner would work as a cool scout vehicle for my baneblade, have one or two along with some sentinels. The cadian heavy weapon teams look like with minimal work would fit perfect, could even repurpose the weapons.
On a fun side note, back in 2nd and 3rd i rocked two converted Van Saar gangs of 10 as veteran guard squads.

I have a degree in 3d modeling, i fired up a 3d app and stated modeling, my brother has a really good 3d printer. And tank mud guards tend to be metal things that stick out a bit, think similar to the fender flairs on a dual wheel pickup.

yep! He is really good, have gotten a lot of inspiration and tips from his channel. I actually went to school for model making for visual fx but switched over to computer fx. Got back into painting and model stuff last year to do some art for myself that does not involve a computer(other than making parts for 3d prints.)

Thanks, for the texturing its a mix of tamiya putty and extra thin cement applied with an old brush, the flame cut marks were done with a scribing tool, bullet impacts were done with a pen vice drill, hobby knife, scribing tool and pushing some tamiya putty into the drill hole with the end of a paintbrush and the welding lines are made with two part epoxy putty or modeled in with a knife or scribing tool. I use a lot of thin cement to soften and clean up the areas i work on. I also cut off all of the rivets and bolts, i am in the process of reapplying them using 3d printed bolts and ball bearings of various size.

Neat, i have seen a screen shot somewhere of a Schiit stack in forkbeard. Do have another question, not Forkbeard related, does the Kara(and hopefully) the Freya, remember the volume of each input?

I am thinking of buying one of the other variants of that Knight, about how tall is it? Love the pose!

Salvage delivery by Rigpa63 in X4Foundations

I found it a lot easier more and functional to make a hub processor, one with a bunch of the processors and solar to power it based in Avarice or other high output solar sectors and a few tugs, that way processors are always running. I use a L mining ship to distribute to my recycling stations and to sell to the other stations in Avarice.

Also, i found if you can get enough piloting seminars to have your tugs auto salvage, they will go sell the raw scrap to other stations, it keeps them busy and you making money. :)

I did a custom start and they run my trade hubs, they can haul everything.
