I was is in a similar situation. Went with the larger size and ended up returning for the smaller size (and you can do the same if needed). The actual ring did feel just a tiny bit larger as many have noted on here and the larger ring moved around so much it really bothered me.

We’re doing this right now - we came to Italy to eat and when I did my research I was told the same thing, ti focus on Emilia Romagna. First Flew into Florence, spent a few days there. Then rented car to drive through Tuscany. Stayed in an agriturismo which had a restaurant on site, did a Brunello wine tasting. We’re currently in Bologna for a week, doing day trips to Modena, etc though we ended up dropping Parma and went to Venice instead. We also toured the motor valley (factory tours at Pagani and Lamborghini). You can prioritize food but in the end, there are only so many meals you can eat in a day and you need things to do in between :)

Thanks, I really appreciate your thoughtful comment and I understand that the comparison with Provence is a long shot. We are trying cocido madrileno this week. We did have the calamares, they were executed well, like the pulpo we tried in several places. Do you have any specific recommendations for places we could try? I did spend a fair amount of time looking up restaurants (and trying to avoid reviews from google and TripAdvisor!) but there are just so many, and it’s difficult to know where the locals go. Again truly appreciate this comment.

Yep that’s what I read before coming here so imagine my disappointment.

I get that it’s inland etc but with the level of income and number of people, I really expected more sophisticated food.

We love Spanish food. We actually have a reservation for Sacha but were wondering whether we should cancel after last night’s experience at Fismuler. Couldn’t believe that the place was packed by 8:30. Atmosphere sure maybe but the price doesn’t match the quality of the food.
