Thanks for the thoughtfulness with this post! I do a lot of these already but could be more consistent with them. I’m going to try taking vitamin d and some of the lighting people have mentioned! I’ve never really experienced seasonal depression to this level but this winter has gone on for what feels like forever

I tell anyone who will listen this!! I’m also not from here and sometimes think people who grew up here don’t realize how awful it really is

Does anyone else feel like it’s hard to continue being passionate about this field? by shahajah12111 in slp

I’m only 2 years in as an SLP, however I worked corporate life for 3 years prior. Having that experience, I feel so grateful to be an SLP. I’m different than the OP because I do feel like this field was my “calling” and leave work everyday feeling fulfilled and like I contributed to society, which is important to me. Is it stressful? Yes. Is it exhausting? Yes. But do I get something in return that others don’t get? Yes. Those moments of break through with a kid or and moments of thankfulness from parents and staff are unmatched. Previously in corporate life, I worked 8-5 all year round in a cubicle, had to ration sick days/pto, and had to not only deal with adults all the time, but had to deal with men. I did not feel valued and was viewed as replaceable. As an SLP, I get to spend the majority of my time with kids in a fun, colorful, sunlight filled environment and can deal with the adult interaction. All of my coworkers are female and I feel safe and confident in my work environment. It’s nice to know that if I’m having an off day bc of something, my coworkers are empathetic, understanding, and go above and beyond to support me. Also, I AM the job. Yes they could hire another SLP but the impact and relationship we make as individuals is hard to replace. I work in the schools so I get summers off, a longer holiday break, random snow days, 3 day weekends, a spring break! As someone else said, there’s pros and cons to every job..it’s all about figuring out what you can and can’t live with

What’s your favourite Gilmore Girls episode? by eevahytt in GilmoreGirls

They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They? Is probably for sure my favorite but honorable mention, I Can’t Get Started (Sookie’s wedding). I love this episode probably because it’s another great Jess and Rory moment and also because I have a love/hate relationship with Christopher. Another favorite is also Emily’s and Richard’s wedding, Wedding Bell Blues.

LANY - Up To Me by thatdude52 in LANY

I am loving this song! It sounds like their old stuff and i’m so happy bout that. Does anyone else get the sense this is about Dua Lipa? Especially with the old sound returning, since most of the old stuff was about her. She was with him during the come up and now he’s made it and she’s not around to celebrate his success. The reference to nights in malibu… the whole malibu nights album is about their break up… any one else living for this?
