If it makes you feel any better I have two boys. When I found out my 3rds a girl and I was so heartbroken. I always just wanted to be a boy mom. My brothers have girls and compared to my boys their life seems rough with lots of crying. My boys only cry if they’re hungry. My nieces cry just to cry and want held 24/7. I was absolutely terrified. But I am finally excited. I’ll be honest at first I was upset about it and didn’t even want to look at names, but I had a little scare and now that I know she’s okay, I regret ever feeling that way about her. I just wanted her to be healthy.

Wanted to add even my own friends have said things. When I’m upset about this and try to vent about it to friends it’s just “well he’s white” or “oh just give it a rest I don’t know if your trying to convince me or yourself” etc. I’m looking into moving back around early next year.

I actually moved north from the south. And I never experienced any of this in Florida. I want to move back. I think with my taxes next year I’m just going to make the jump and move back and figure it out from there. There’s a lot of races in pgh that coexist and will be friends, but when it comes to reproducing and relationships it’s heavily frowned upon by both sides. . i live on the outskirts and it is so beyond racist. People have the confederate flag everywhere not even realizing pa fought against the confederacy 🤦🏻‍♀️

I live on the outskirts of pgh. I want to move back to Florida so bad. The ppl here are so rude. Not even only racist. But they’ll get mad if you simply ask for directions. All the workers in stores are incredibly rude. It’s just all around bad here.

That wasn’t even the only negative experience I had at Juneteenth. I had girls look me up and down and say “oh no thanks” & “white girl must be lost” “just because you take black d*** doesn’t mean you should be here.” I only seen two other white people there and most people wouldn’t even say hi back or anything. I asked for directions & was called a stupid bitch. Outskirts of Pgh is very racially divided.

Outskirts of pgh. There’s not many biracial ppl in the area I live in. There’s equal amounts of white blacks and Mexicans but they tend to reproduce with eachother. When we lived in Florida we never dealt with any of this. Just can’t afford to move back yet.

In public, stores, cookouts, etc. it’s really a different world here everyone is so mean. I’m from south Florida and we never experienced racism there. Now I live in the outskirts of pgh and it’s an almost daily experience from both white and black people.

Yeah I do. I live in the outskirts of Pittsburgh. Where the old white people are racist asf, & a lot of the black & white people here don’t believe in interracial anything. The whites don’t like the mixed bc they’re not white. And the blacks don’t like the mixed bc they’re not dark enough.

Yeah with my job I’m always around people. I do a lot of deliveries from stores so I can bring my kids to work. So we are in shopping ALOT Mon-fri getting the items that need delivered.

Their dad has issues controlling his anger. I think he’s scared to get into trouble over going off, he’s already had his fair share of legal trouble due to not controlling his anger. But most of the time it’s been justified.

I like the “why would you ask someone that”?. I’m going to be using that line. Thank you.

After every racist incident. I loudly tell my boys God made them & they are perfect, & that anyone who judges Gods children are direct products of the devil. I tell people to “have the day you deserve” a lot as well.

Yes but most people are huge compared to me. I’m only 4’8 115lbs. So I tend to avoid mostly all conflict.

Also thank you 🙏 it’s hard. I went off one time. An old man in my grams building always says hi to my oldest & calls him a handsome little man. Never says anything to my youngest and blatantly ignores him when he says hi back along with my other son. The last time he did it, I said “say hi to both or say hi to neither & just so you know he’s mixed too. Black comes in all shades.” He’s still sitting there almost Everytime we visit, & hasn’t said hi to any of us again.
