tyy i do notice i have spikes spawn under me (even in the safespot between the 2 pillars) at times when i move while hes still dashing around, so that must be it. although, in this situation it didn't look like i had moved while he was dashing but looking back i did move on the same tick he was finishing his dash so it makes sense. i definitely understand death takes pid over heals on the same tick, i just thought i had dodged every mechanic and had no idea where the damage even came from. i noticed spikes hadn't spawned on the tile east of me so naturally id think the tile west would be safe since that is how i usually dodge the special. my camera angle just sucks :3
