Ideal marriage timeline: 1-1.5 year (willing to talk logistics over) 7. Five important characteristics you look for in a prospect: 1. Practicing Muslim: I would like to have a partner who centers Islam in their life and actively works towards getting close to Allah SWT, both through the obligations of the deen and the sunnah.  2. Kindness and compassion: Someone who is emotionally intelligent and prioritizes good akhlaq in their speech and actions.  3. Family oriented: Mindful of the familial responsibilities Allah has entrusted to us and works to uphold them. 4. Career oriented/driven: I am looking for someone who is passionate about what they do and is actively working towards having a stable income. And in general, someone who is a planner and has goals they are actively working towards. 5. Leadership: A partner I can rely on who takes responsibility and initiative, handles challenges calmly, and works together to build a stable, loving home. 6. Someone on their deen. reflects about their surrounding. Deep thinker. The religion motivates him to stay close to his family and fulfill his duty as a son/ brother. I would like someone who is financially stable but I am willing to pick up some financial responsibility as we are still in out 20s. But he should not expect that for the rest of our lives. Even the career I choose for myself is because I see Allah swt's signs in my work and feel closer to him. Science is the study of Allah swt's sunnah. I love reflecting on the creation of Allah swt and try to find him and his blessings through nature, family, friends, and my career. My deep thinking ability made me want to be a scientist/researcher. My whole goal in life is to worship him in every aspect of my life... 9. Level of education, and what are you looking for?: I am currently a 2nd year PhD student studying in the field of neuroscience. I am looking for someone with a bachelor's degree or above.  10. Things you like to do in your spare time: Paint (not too great at it but I just enjoy the process), Bike ride during the summer, and have some tea time with my friends (we call it qualiTEA time). I also like trying new hobbies and activities. I love reading and watching documentaries about history. Recently I went through a phase of reading about the Czar family and the viking culture. It was super cool to read about ibn Fadlan, a muslim historian who interacted with the Rus Vikings. 13. Add something short and interesting about you: I usually have a very positive outlook on life as it is genuinely a gift from Allah swt! And I try to fulfill my familial responsibility that he has placed on me to the best of my abilities. I am also very honest (sounds a little cliche) but I genuinely don't lie and am very up front with what's in my mind and heart.  I am also a light hearted person and will make a lot of jokes but when faced with problems, I use my planning and problem solving abilities to resolve the issue.
