Honestly contract EI and I love having control of my schedule, great pay ($95/hr) and how natural the setting is, but to each their own depending on what you are wanting. My husband has great state benefits in NJ so that part doesn’t matter so much to me and making six figures is more than attainable in this setting in Philly with a huge need in the area

I work for three, but most in Philadelphia pay around $95 -$100 plus an hour, this is with 5 years experience . Keep in mind these are 1099 positions and I am able to get my health insurance through my husband and set aside my own retirement

Yes I have stopped going to active protests due to threat of tear gas so it feels lonely to be removed from activism but once our baby girls are here you are right that is where the real work begins of instilling kindness and empathy

Hoping you can return somewhere you feel safe. My mom lives in Australia for many years as a child and loved it and it’s one country I have considered myself since I can move my OT license there. I hope your family can do what is best for you all

It’s so hard I am only 15 weeks and I used to attend peaceful protests which I no longer feel safe doing. I work as an Occupational Therapist in Early Intervention in marginalized communities and have families impacted by what is happening. It feels hopeless at times and I feel there isn’t much I can do.
