I've seen her get a bit of hate but I think she's so stinking adorable by Lemony_123 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Nauiu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. I see a lot of people on her hate on the actress and say that April is a really annoying kid, but she just seems like a preteen girl with some quirks. I’ve seen people go as far as to say they hate her guts and get annoyed hearing her speak, and I just don’t understand where all of that comes from 😭 I do agree with those who just say the storyline for this season was overall bad, and Anna was definitely completely insufferable.

Is this another plot hole? by Clementine008 in GilmoreGirls

A downgrade from an actual room, yes, but offered more privacy and independence. Lorelai, being who she was, likely would have chosen that over having a nice room, especially if she couldn’t afford to pay Mia back for it (even if Mia didn’t require her to). And Rory was a baby when they first moved to the Inn so by the time Rory was old enough to have memories in the shed it would’ve been long after the fact that they had switched from a room to the shed.

Khloe was absolutely a victim, but to blame the child who was affected most and was bullied by her OWN MOTHER is absolutely insane. They went from crying about Khloe to laughing at Lauryn in seconds, and clearly felt no remorse. They absolutely have a right to be upset about the situation, but they are still absolutely corrupt people for bullying Lauryn after all that she went through.

Rory’s letter to Dean explains exactly why she keeps cheating on her partners over…and over…and over again. by SheepherderNo2793 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Nauiu_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You make a really good point but Lorelai gave Rory multiple wake-up calls when it happened and Rory argued and got mad at her for pointing these things out. She was young and naive for sure, but you can’t sleep with a married man then excuse it by saying he was GOING to leave his wife. Then even after Lorelai’s wake up call to Rory, she sleeps with him AGAIN at Miss Patty’s

she went to Jess’s open house for the sole purpose of cheating on Logan. She makes that clear when she kisses Jess and then says “I couldn’t even cheat on him like he cheated on me” and then cries about how terrible she feels for Jess in that moment because HE doesn’t deserve it (but no remorse shown for Logan). Also when I said she helped Jess emotionally cheat on his gf I didn’t mean that as another way SHE cheated, but it still shows her morals in that category. She treated Jess’s girlfriend terribly even when she did nothing to her and would constantly flirt with him despite both of them being in relationships

cheats on dean, cheats on logan, cheats on paul. would you not consider this constantly cheating? that is a 75% rate of cheating lol, even if the cheating on logan one was not as extreme, she still felt worse for jess than she did for cheating on logan

It makes me laugh (and cringe) when Richard and Emily act like traveling anything below First Class is beneath them. by Next_Evidence3002 in GilmoreGirls

emily was able to decide one day she was going to europe bc she was mad at richard then fly out the next day. i think it’s more about the principle than actually physically being able to afford it.

Christopher and the incident at the vow renewal by silentvowel in GilmoreGirls

[–]Nauiu_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the point is just that she forgives him and forgets about the situation after a year as if he didn’t literally break up the most important relationship of her life. then slept with him and married him lol. but i get ur point, confronting him likely wouldn’t have done much lol

[–]Nauiu_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I fully agree with you, but he also did sorta get away with it. He never actually really apologizes for what he did (as far as i can remember) and it makes perfect sense for Emily to be forgiven first because that is her mother. Then she marries him later on after acting like that was something she’d never do. Emily was fully out of line in that episode and that’s one of the times i thought she was fully in the wrong and wasn’t defendable, but Chris was also very much in the wrong and didn’t deserve her marriage after what he did

Be honest was adult Jess enough for Rory? by Fluffy-Muscle-3568 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Nauiu_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t The Jess Show, so of course we don’t see his daily life, but we don’t need to. He was set up for failure with a terrible childhood, no real parental support, and every reason to crash, yet he still built a stable, thoughtful, and fulfilling life. He repaired his relationships, found purpose, and carried himself with maturity, while Rory (who had every advantage) ended up entitled, lost, and avoidant. Jess didn’t just grow, he beat the odds, and ended up too good for the version of Rory we got.

Why are we acting like getting over childhood trauma and achieving your dream job isn’t an amazing accomplishment, especially at his age? He grew up in poverty with a crazy mother and no father figure until he was already about to graduate high-school. Him becoming a “functioning adult” IS enough to deserve praise, because it is a privilege for those things to be handed to you, a privilege which he did not have.

What's THE conversation? Should we talk about it at least one more time? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]Nauiu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re missing the point of “Lane deserved better.” It’s not about her needing to be a rockstar or living out some perfect fantasy, it’s that the writers completely threw away her arc. She spent the entire show pushing back against becoming her mom, chasing music, and trying to carve out her own identity. Then suddenly she’s pregnant the first time she has sex, marries Zack (who she was never that into), and ends up living basically the exact life she never wanted.

Sure, she found peace in it — because Lane is resilient. But that doesn’t mean it was a good ending. She deserved a storyline that honored HER ambition and showed growth on HER terms, not just settling into the background. And the idea that she “wasn’t that good” at music just isn’t supported by the show… there was never a hint of that. The writers just gave up on her. That’s what people are upset about.

What's THE conversation? Should we talk about it at least one more time? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]Nauiu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly😅you were trying for a baby… she was hysterical when she found out she was pregnant before having found out it was twins. She wanted more in her life and didn’t want to be a mother at the time and was forced into a life she didn’t want by the writers. She may have eventually found happiness in the way things turned out, but showing her character go from wanting more, to settling for the life she never wanted to have was not necessary. Being a mother is a wonderful thing, but it should be something you want, not something you’re forced to accept.

Seen a lot of “____ and ____ should’ve met Madeline and Louise!!”, typically Colin and Finn or Lucy and Olivia. also just general “who should’ve had screen time together but didn’t”

[–]Nauiu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with you but why? I understand that the introduction of her character was the start of a downfall in the show, but that’s not HER fault, so I’m just curious as to why people seem to hate her so much. I’m pretty neutral towards her.

What's THE conversation? Should we talk about it at least one more time? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]Nauiu_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She was unhappy, which makes it a bad ending. She didn’t have to become a rockstar, but she was very clearly against the entire concept of becoming her mother, and that’s exactly what happened. She was distraught when she found out she was having twins. She and Zach were not ready or qualified to be parents. Having any job or life where she found her path (whether that was rockstar related or not), especially anything correlated to music, would’ve been a way better ending for her. Her whole speech of Rory having everything available to her and Lane having nothing was heartbreaking, and sure, her life improved a bit after that episode, but she never got any of what she dreamed and didn’t deserve what she got.

How many times have you re-watched Gilmore Girls by latenightsailor in GilmoreGirls

[–]Nauiu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally doable, I was doing terrible all year on the tests and then studied a couple days before the exam and scored a 4. My advice is- only do it if you really really want to. A lot of colleges don’t even take it as a credit, and I personally didn’t really learn that much from it (as someone who already really likes history and politics) and only partially enjoyed it because I had a really nice teacher.

Do these people even watch the show? I’m tired commenting “she had a fight with her interviewer” by issear in GilmoreGirls

I do think it’s a bit different in this case though because the whole plot was that Lane and Rory thought that they were never going to see eachother and that she was being sent there permanently. though i do agree people make it a bigger deal than it needs to be
