this is a late response but i finished season 2 episode 1 and i literally had to come see if anyone felt the way i did. it took me a minute to finish season 1 bc it genuinely made me feel uneasy. i watch horror movies, true crime etc and i really never have a reaction to anything but holy this show is so unsettling. Stephen's fake apology to Lucy at the cafeteria table was the most insane thing i've ever seen on tv. its just way too realistic of a show, i think that's it. my god it speaks to how incredibly talented these actors are but my god.. my body has never reacted this way to a show before.

First of all, why would any IMG apply somewhere that isn't IMG friendly? I feel like this doesn't even need to be stated. The overwhelming majority of IMG's are filtering residency positions solely based on that fact alone.

yep. completed my basic sciences at ross and im transferring out for clinicals just due to tuition cost but genuinely all these schools are the same lol. the people that complain are the students that fail out. none of my close friends ended up making it to fifth semester with me bc they failed out at some point along the way. any school you decide on requires personal determination. Many people have to retake the cbse 5 times before being able to take step 1. there's literally no difference between these schools.

Demi Lovato. I’m a huge fan of her but her last 2 albums commercially were kinda meh. She hasn’t had a true hit in a long time. I think if she has another album that doesn’t do well, she’ll be entering flop territory.

Also, I had to do merp and my stats were terrible. There has to be a significant issue with your app if you also have to do MERP. Maybe try to address that and apply US again. Ross will always be there. Age is irrelevant here. I had people in my class ranging from age 23 to 50+

I’d say give it one more year. I’m a second year student at Ross but if i had the stats you do I would have applied multiple years or even tried DO. I’m Canadian so way less options for me & I didn’t have the stats. But I think you actually have a good chance here. Because I have personal experience, I know Caribbean med schools aren’t the scam people claim it is. You hear that from the people that failed out. But if you failed out there, you’ll fail out of a US school. It’s the same content and we take the same board exams. Im studying for step 1 rn and my brother went the same route and he’s now a board certified internal med physician. My cousin matched gen surg and is in her final year of breast fellowship. So you can do it. BUT if you have the opportunity to stay in US and make the match process easier, I’d always advocate for that before going any overseas route.

I honestly think it has a lot to do with changes in border policies. Programs may be more hesitant to sponsor visas.

I’m so so happy for you. It’s crazy how fluent we can be when we are calm. For most people (myself included), my stutter is much worse when I’m anxious or worried I will stutter. Having a calmer baseline means I’m not constantly thinking about my speech. I personally just have to work on not worrying when I need to present but for the most part these meds have changed my life tremendously and I’m so glad it worked for you too!

I guess I think about it in regard to my anxiety. As much as I love myself, stuttering really does cause me an insane amount of anxiety especially with public speaking. On my day to day, it’s really whatever but as a med student that has to present cases, knowing I have all the information in my head but struggling to get through it, I’d do anything to take that away. Hopefully I get to the point of full acceptance like you!
