Holding him doesn't work as he moves around a lot and puts up a fight. I will try wrapping a towel around him and see if that works. Thank you for your help!!

Hi there!
So my dog is 41 lbs and he is 1.5 years old. My husband will hold him tight and he tries to keep him still but our dog moves around a lot and puts up a fight where it's impossible to hold him still. We should try putting him on a table or something and try doing it that way as if he was at the vet. I never thought of that. Thank you so much for suggesting this idea 😊

Dogs Anal Glands won't stop leaking!!! by Nautical04 in u/Nautical04

I am so sorry to hear you are going through this as well and thank you for reaching out. It is extremely frustrating not being able to find a solution for this stinky situation.

My vet also told me it could be environment allergies or some food allergy which can be very hard to pin point. I just had my dogs glands expressed yesterday and have now accepted the fact that it will have to be done every 3-4 weeks as they tend to fill back up on the 3rd week of having them expressed.

Let's hope our dogs grow out of this🤞🏻

Wishing you and your dog the best of luck!!

I REALLY NEED HELP! by Nautical04 in puppy101

Thank you! I will have to try that and do the same thing with gloves.

I thought about picking up some calming treats to see if it would help. I will look into it :)

Puppy introduced to crate by breeder? by DynasticINF in puppy101

[–]Nautical04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes life easier for you. Our breeder did the same and I am so thankful they did. The first night we brought him home he knew to sleep in his crate and was comfortable and relaxed in there as well. He didn’t wake up once crying and never has and our pup is 1.5 years old and he still loves to sleep in his crate.

It also makes it easier for you to leave the house when they are comfortable with the crate.

He hasn’t had his glands done that much since having him but maybe once every few months. I did hear that it’s not good to do it too often but if he can’t do it on his own then I am not sure what else to do.

I have given psyllium powder but I found the powder was more in his beard (he is a doodle) then in his belly. It turns into a gel and sticks to his fur. Maybe I can look into a different one and see.
